H and M have some nice linen blend ones but the only true cotton ones I’ve seen are Lucy and yak. I’m not over fond of them to be honest though. The waistbands on them are really wide and thick and not comfortable, I end up rolling them over. I much prefer the viscose / jersey ones from Yours for comfort, even though I know you said not that sort of thing!

Try M&S. I got some nice ones last year.

Look at Thought clothing. They have some lovely soft cotton things and I have several of their joggers, can't remember the name, but with a waistband you turn down.

I have looked there and can’t see baggy cotton ones .

Just looked. The cotton ones are either joggers, harem or denim which is stiffer than I want. Thanks though for suggesting .

They seem to go up to 20. I’m generally a 22 . Depends how generous .
was more looking for straight baggy and loose, but these are an option.

Seen these, but seems they are very baggy round hip and not flattering perhaps ?

Alexa Trousers: ORGANIC COTTON - Black

Alexa, find me the perfect pair of trousers. Super-comfy, fun and floaty, in black, with a big-hips shape that gives your thighs room to do their thing. Boom!

They’re the ones that I have and I wish I hadn’t got them to be honest. They’re just so baggy and don’t hang well.

They are almost right I think, but too baggy round hips ?

I have two pairs of Alexa trousers from L&Y. I like them a lot. I have the black ones and the green ones. I slightly prefer the green.

They have a stretchy waistband and are loose fitting cotton. They also have decent pockets

sonjadog · 16/04/2023 10:41

I have the Alexa trousers and they are very confortable but baggy around the waist and hips. I wear them a lot at home, but I don’t really wear them out as they aren’t the most flattering… I also have the Billie style and they are similar to the Alexa but less baggy around the hips and waist. I like mine much better and wear them more often. They come up big though, so go down a size.

motherofkevinnotperry · 16/04/2023 10:44

I'm similar and I think the material is key. Lucy and yak are nice but due to the heavy cotton they're not flattering and don't hang well. I suggest light linen fabric without a gathered waist. Flat fronted if the tummy allows (again depends on the cut). A straight or tapered leg are the most balancing shape.

I got a nice pair from monsoon a few years ago but I can't find any that fit my pear shape without making my hits and bum look massive.

I'm stuck with tapered joggers and they're not what I want. I'm still looking.

AgnesGray · 16/04/2023 10:44

I wear my Alexas out but I am very hippy! So they are a bit more flattering on me I think

I’m really looking for light cotton . Don’t really want linen . Is the Lucy and Yak very stiff cotton ?

I find the Alexa ones ok...not stiff at all. But that may be because mine are getting on a bit 😆

They're thicker than a shirt would be, but not as thick as soft jeans if that's any help!

I do find it quite stiff

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 16/04/2023 11:12

Sainsbury's ????

sonjadog · 16/04/2023 11:18

I have Billie in corderoy but I think they come in cotton too. The cotton Lucy & Yak use is quite heavy weight, in my experience, but it varies hugely from product to product. It is easy to return stuff, so if you want to try something out, it isn’t a pain to send back again.

Cantonet · 16/04/2023 11:54

These from M&S attached.
I bought the white trousers from last year. They're made out of a cotton muslin & in several colours - going up to a size 24.
I think M&S also do a tapered style in the same fabric.
