I wear the L&Y alexas and love them - waistband is comfy for me and they're roomy but they are tapered - not loose all the way down. Sone of them I've had like the pink and red ones are quite stiff cotton the blues are softer 👍

H&M have loads. I like the linen joggers( misnamed) at £29.99. I find their plus sizes slightly over generous in trousers, but the reviews are helpful. I’m an 18 but buy L in H&M.

I’m not keen on linen, but will check them out. I think it depends on mix, softness . I have bought bits from them before, but not trousers . Thanks.

Fatface sizes are usually generous.
Their sale has just started which could be worth a look.

Just spotted the sale prices !

I bought a pair of those Alexa trousers and thought they were the most unflattering things ever. I sized way down and they still had way too much material on the hips and crotch.

sonjadog · 17/04/2023 16:10

I would have to say neither the Alexa or Billie trousers give a Scandi Architect vibe. But they are very comfy for pottering about at home.

The alexas are pure evil. If you are heavy of thigh like I am, the excess fabric sort of scrunches between them and the seams rub as the material is stiff.

Not IME. I am, as you so accurately describe, heavy of thigh, and suffer dreadfully from chub-rub. My Alexas have been a comfortable pleasure from day one. Any stiffness disappeared after the first wash.

Lucy and Yak are very easy to return, so why not try a few?

vestanesta · 17/04/2023 19:55

Ohhh @WashAsDelicates I am envious. I really wanted them to work for me and washed them a good few times and they were awful. I had green ones so don't know if it was a fabric thing.

I also dislike linen and denim mind you. And polyester and crepe. And thick jersey like the M&S wide stripe trousers. And leggings. Basically almost all bottoms ever.

These from M&S attached.
I bought the white trousers from last year. They're made out of a cotton muslin & in several colours - going up to a size 24.
I think M&S also do a tapered style in the same fabric.

I may order these

Wish they were black, or a dark grey or blue . I’m not a brown tone person. But a taking a good look at the site .

I actually thought these were more wine coloured than brown when I bought ( and when received) but appreciate the need for black or blue!

FatFace sizing is usually generous, so I sized down for this purchase.

Unless it goes against your religion, have a look at Shein Curve/Plus. So many to browse, you might find something and they are all inexpensive.

BTW I know some are horrified by Shein, but for some things they cannot be beaten for choice/price point.

M&S Tencel rich tapered ankle grazer trousers. £29.50. I know they are not cotton but tencel is super soft and they go up to size 24.

I’ve got these from Fat Face. Really lovely lightweight non-stiff trousers. Worth a look OP. (I wouldn’t really call them joggers either)

Ridiculous I know but I'd be inclined to get these and dye them -you just toss them in the machine with a Dylon machine pod ,add any other black clothes you want to revive and voila .
