A change in diet/lifestyle? Or a product?

Rapidly approaching 40 and am trying to take a bit more care over my skin. I always wear spf but other than that am a bit overwhelmed
by the range of options!

Can someone please link to tretinoin??

I thought it was prescription only....

Phoebesgift · 16/04/2023 21:51

How do you get it prescribed? Do you have to present to the GP looking really wrinkled, pleading mental health issues due to the ageing process? Not taking the piss, just want to know how to get some off my Dr.

WrenNatsworthy · 16/04/2023 21:57

I am blessed with good skin (greasy as a child but fab now, just as my Mom told me), but what makes it look fabulous is mixing a bit of Neals Yard rose beauty balm with my cc cream.
People always comment.
I'm 50, nobody ever believes me!

infinityminusone · 16/04/2023 22:00

Ditching the expensive face cleansers and using plain water worked wonders.

WrenNatsworthy · 16/04/2023 22:02

Meditating and lots of sleep too.

JustCallMeWitch · 16/04/2023 22:06

Anyone manage to both drink 3 litres of water a day AND get a good night's sleep?! If so, tell me your secret!

Switching to a minimalistic routine and cutting out anything with lots of chemicals like fragrance, parabens, and SLS. Also cutting out processed food and wheat.

Spamham · 17/04/2023 13:05

Skincare products that work for me are Vitamin C, Retinol, SPF & I’ve just ordered the new no 7 Future Renew Serum 🤞🏼
Also - water & sleep

What does this tret actually do?
Make skin glow? Make it properly moisturisised?

Get rid of wrinkles?

Bluebellwood129 · 17/04/2023 17:24

Tretinoin, lots of time to relax and a stress-free lifestyle

allfurcoatnoknickers · 17/04/2023 17:38

Tretinoin, sunscreen every day, acid toners and drinking LOADS of water.

Also, I've got a Greek parent and have always eaten a Mediterranean diet, which I think is really paying off now I'm closer to 40.

Glow, acne. Great results.

Wrinkles - might soften fine lines but you need to be in it for the long haul, and it will take a year or two at least.

HappiDaze · 18/04/2023 18:35

Tret basically peels off the top layer of your skin to reveal newer fresher skin cells hence the need to use spf otherwise the newer skin will become damaged and you'll end up more wrinkly than you would have in the first place

Tretinoin speeds up the skin cell turnover process, stimulates collagen production and stimulates the production of new blood vessels in the skin.

Treacletoots · 18/04/2023 19:04

Retinol, azelaic acid and centella asiatica my personal favourites

HisOliveTree · 18/04/2023 19:05

Tretinoin (the proper stuff from a pharmacy in Andorra) and SPF 50.

Gwenhwyfar · 18/04/2023 19:17

wineandsunshine · 16/04/2023 21:31

So after a quick google, I can see that tretinoin is only on prescription from GP or dermatologist.

Any other way to purchase it?!

Online from abroad.
