I have treated myself to a YSL Lou Lou bag

It's pre loved from Xupes and it is the medium size one in black calfskin leather with silver hardware

I only ordered it last night and it probably won't arrive until Tuesday. and I am just so excited for it to arrive 😜 and basically just wanted to share. Have not told anyone in rl apart from H

Soooo it arrived and I'm not sure 😔

It is beautiful no doubt about it. But it's stiffer than I expected I thought would be more smooshy. I am also not sure if it is too big for me . I'm a short arse 😂

I'm also paranoid people will assume it's a fake as I'm not the most glamorous or put together person (although the joggers and vest aren't something I'd actually go out in they're basically my pjs!!!)

I can return it while the Xupes ribbon is still on ...I'm undecided argh

I also currently hate my body at the mo (currently doing mfp and an exercise regime) so that doesn't help 😢

I like it in the second pic, double strap. The first, I don't like how it sits.

It's a lovely bag. If you're not happy with it, or not someone who would predominantly carry like the second pic, return it. It's a lot of money to sit in the wardrobe x

I like it in the second pic but I do think it would look better if it were a tad smaller.
I'd get no use out of it as I like crossbody style.

Have always thought YSL bags are not worth their price tag, so not a fan of them, particularly this style. Although it can be worn as cross body, it's not crossbody bag. However, a smaller size Lou Lou would sit better.

Did you look at it and try it in person before buying?

If you're not sure, return it and use the money for something you love.

I think it looks big on you tbh. I am short and have a black Loulou toy with black hardware which I think is a perfect little cross body bag - I use it when going out in the evening a lot or if on a City break, but I like small light bags personally (work tote excepted).

Can I ask how much you paid? I think try it on with outfits you'll actually wear it with.

Looks lovely!! I like it both crossbody and double strapped on you. If you're not sure on the crossbody height, loop the straps under the flap before you close it again and it shortens it 😃

I have the same bag and two years in it is very soft and supple, the leather is much softer now it's been worn for a while 😊

I don't think its your height tbh. I think the bag is ACTUALLY BIG in general. It looks like a large!

I think small bags are on trend too so perhaps that's why. I love the bag though and for that price tag I would want a firmwr leather so it wears in nicely. I always watch bag hauls on ticktock!

What size did you go for? I have the small and it doesn’t look anywhere near that big - I can still get my big purse, phone and make up bits in and even a pack of strepsils in there (as needed this weekend!). I think it’s too big for a crossbody bag but looks fine on the second pic. I personally like the fact it is relatively stiff and sturdy but if you don’t like that and are worried it is too big, probably best to return for something you love.

@ifyougochasingrabbits The toy is pretty small so may not suit - but I’m allergic to metal so it ruled out the chain strap ones - it holds my (small) iPhone, compact, mini hairbrush, hand get and lip pie. But that’s all I need so it really depends on what you want it for. I think they are lovely quality leather and wear well - I
think the style is quite practical (I have an APC bag which is smooth all over and got a big scratch almost straight away).

I actually did prefer the small size (the one up from the Toy) but they seem to be soooo hard to get apart from brand new and I can't justify over £2k

In fact I almost got stung for a fake one on eBay 😳🤦‍♀️ (if anyone is looking on eBay for any designer bags please be careful 🙏)

I think you look great in the pictures btw, the appearance of the bag isn’t anything to do with your body, it’s just a big bag and would be on anyone!

You don’t sound like you love it and I do think that you could definitely get one that you love for that price but why don’t you try it with some different outfits tomorrow and see what you think? You may feel differently if you see it with something else if you wouldn’t usually wear the outfit from the pictures out and about?
