What shoes with this dress?

Going to a drag show this month and decided on this dress but can't think of what shoes! I don't like open toes or really high heels, so I was thinking of low black court shoes with a block heel but I don't know if that goes? Any help would be very appreciated! I have white leather converse but I don't think they'd work?

I don't think you'll get away with a low-heeled court shoe with that dress tbh... any other options in your wardrobe?

minipie · 13/02/2023 16:38

I would definitely pick the white leather converse over low heeled court shoes. Do you have any heeled ankle boots?

kissthegirlshesnotbehindthedoor · 13/02/2023 16:42

Anything by Esska in velvet? The teal looks nice.

Where is the dress from, it's cute!

DillDanding · 13/02/2023 16:44

Those Esska shoes would be perfect.

Black court shoes would be beyond terrible.

crymeout · 13/02/2023 16:46

@DillDanding I thought that they would be 😂

Black court shoes would not go, don't do it!

I'd probably wear white or something like these clear ones:

Converse might work but I think only some people could pull that off :)

@Mynameiselvispresley @kissthegirlshesnotbehindthedoor thank you, it's from H&MSmile

Silver ankle boots?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/02/2023 17:33

Heeled ankle boots

LadyEloise1 · 13/02/2023 17:47

Sorry I think those Esska shoes are awfully thick and clumpy. You would want to be very slim of leg for them to look nice. The same for the ugly M&S ones.

A silver court shoe - mid height heel or higher would be great with that dress.

Montague22 · 13/02/2023 17:53

I agree Esska
You could go with silver, but I agree with the teal suggestion too.

silver

No point spending over £100 on shoes just for one event!

Blossomtoes · 13/02/2023 18:06

Those see through porn star shoes! No, just no. You could get a lot of wear out of these.

I just posted this in the wrong thread! This is the right one 😊
An ivory sock boot or knee length boot:

Totally agree. The M&S are the ugliest I've seen in a long time.

I think the metallic green Esska ones are even worse than the M&S ones - and that's saying something.

OP - do you want something that is edging into fancy dress territory, or something that you can wear again? Have you got nothing else between low heeled black and Converse?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/02/2023 19:23

I don't like these but they are cheap, if all you want is something for the event, rather than for a long-term relationship.

Partyandbullshit · 13/02/2023 19:25

I think I'm missing something! That dress calls for hot pink / acid yellow / emerald green Manolo-style heels to me. Kitten, if need be.

Who wears court shoes?! It's not the 1980's.

DillDanding · 13/02/2023 19:37

Lol at silver court shoes. That would look terribly dated.

They have some in primark very similar.
