plus size funky wedding co ord

Am a wedding guest in June - definitely do not want a dress- I'd love a suit (see image attached) but if I get hot I'd be worried the trousers and top would look a bit lumpy without the jacket
So I was thinking of a flippy silk co ord maybe in a jewel colour or a floral - sort of like a luxe pyjama vibe
Anyone seen similar? I'm short and can be an 18/20/22 dependent on shop and am an apple shape

I love how Trinny Woodall dresses but I am the exact opposite of her shape!

You see I think that's really 1970's-esque and not modern as you would see it. I had clothing very similar to that in the 70's when I was a kid. I think some of the other suggestions are younger and more 'modern' but sure what do I know 😄

Yeah I guess the print is. Maybe modern isn't the right word. I want it to be stylish, very luxe etc. Something you wouldn't just see anywhere. It's hard trying to quantify a feeling about clothes isn't it. I'm also keen not to look frumpy or matronly. I can feel this really easily

I have these trousers! They are a brilliant summer pant with a cami top tucked in, and I really enjoy wearing them. But I think they are a bit light for a luxe wedding outfit, where you want the trousers to have some weight to them. But for just wafting through summer, these are a great buy!

I like @Blueboys2009 ’s RI sets which are great. (I’m not sure why I wouldn’t think of RI for stuff? But these surprised me! ) I think a proper pyjama shape is a stronger look at a fashionable wedding than a more floaty top so I might go for the patterned RI set - I like the flat waistband on the trousers too.

I love a co-ord @crochetmonkey74 so this whole thread is bringing me joy. I am the same size and shape as you, and my best are from Mango. Their plus range is really decent for tailoring and co-ords; the cutting is well-judged rather than just scaled up randomly. Definitely worth a look tho you might be a wee bit early for lots of the summer stock yet. Good trouser suits too.

This is almost perfectly what I was imagining!

The sizes I need are not in- I would want a 20 in the trousers or even an 18 and a 22 or 24 in the shirt for the necessary floppiness. Will head to my local store and see if they have them

I really like this too and think the colours are great Summer wise- also can be dressed up and down after the wedding as part of my summer capsule
