plus size funky wedding co ord

Am a wedding guest in June - definitely do not want a dress- I'd love a suit (see image attached) but if I get hot I'd be worried the trousers and top would look a bit lumpy without the jacket
So I was thinking of a flippy silk co ord maybe in a jewel colour or a floral - sort of like a luxe pyjama vibe
Anyone seen similar? I'm short and can be an 18/20/22 dependent on shop and am an apple shape

I love how Trinny Woodall dresses but I am the exact opposite of her shape!

Ah OK.

Any good?

Yes, now I saw this one.
I like it but I am unsure on the print

Is it a little too pyjama-y?

I don't think Mango fits me

Both of them are way too like pyjamas, whether or not that is the fashion I can't say but if you're going to the wedding and you're not the bride the blouse you linked to is too close to bridal colours to be something that a guest would wear.

I think you'll need to try on something before ruling it out to be honest. You might not want a jumpsuit but it might actually look really well on you and tick a lot of the boxes when you see yourself in one.

You're saying you want jewel colour. Would any of these tops work for you do you think:

I also really like this but suspect the fabric might be a bit shit...

I agree these types of co ord suits look pyjama-like OP. They need everyone who sees them to understand that they’re not! I couldn’t carry it off, for sure. I think Trinny does as she just exudes confidence (and her height helps!).

Flyinggeesei234 · 06/02/2023 13:43

Side note I’m looking for a teddy coat, but it must have a belt. they just look like dressing gowns unless VERY careful. It’s tricky.

These from Aligne? They both have matching tops/bottoms They go up to size 22, trousers might need shortening though.

Flyinggeesei234 · 06/02/2023 14:18

Sorry OP Mango again but how about this? Fits the brief but not pyjama-like? Also I think the size range is good.

Lots on Wolf and Badger that are definitely not PJ esque. Search ‘palazzo’ rather than co ord.

The one I linked was just to show the drape and fit etc. I definitely want a darker floral ideally.
Definitely no to a jumpsuit. I want something I can split and wear seperately
None of those blouses are right unfortunately. I definitely want something more trendy and modern.

Do you live near any Indian shops/tailors? How about a Punjabi Suit?

crochetmonkey74 · 06/02/2023 14:34

Hmmm I like long sleeves really

You see I think that's really 1970's-esque and not modern as you would see it. I had clothing very similar to that in the 70's when I was a kid. I think some of the other suggestions are younger and more 'modern' but sure what do I know 😄
