posh dress for summer wedding

Help required. I need a dress for my DSis's wedding in August. Its a fairly posh event but with a laid back vibe (large teepee style marquee in the grounds of a manor house).

I'm 5'4, size 8/10, long hair. Tend towards dressy.

DSis2 (not the one getting married) is wearing this:

If I we’re going to a lovely wedding in summer I would choose something from needle and thread. I’ve always wanted one of their dresses but don’t have anywhere to wear it to 😞 Their pieces all have a lovely, floaty, boho-ey vibe.

Should have said budget would be up to about £400. I have mediterranean colouring (olive skin, green eyes, brown hair)

Yeah that’s more ballgown/prom than wedding - also doesn’t scream summer either. I like the one your sister has picked. Have you tried Anthropologie, they have a lot a similar vibe to your sister’s dress.

I like loads on the needle and thread site but mainly the champagne ruffley ones which I clearly can't wear to my DSis's wedding!

Quite amazing how peoples taste differs isn't it. I think those needle and thread dresses and the wild and badger ones are horrendous 😂

I like the original Zimmerman link and the anthropology and hope & Ivy suggestions, maxmara and the outnet also good calls.

I think sometimes you have to give yourself a sharp kick when looking at designer dresses otherwise you can be fooled into thinking that toilet roll doll style dresses are a good idea!

Have you looked at hurr to maybe rent something? I have a Norma Kamala Diana dress which has also been great for weddings. Or Rixo? Or Vampires wife, but they can be very spendy.

I really like this and the way it’s so unapologetically romantic and pretty. I think you’d need to try it to tell whether you look like a loo roll doll.
