posh dress for summer wedding

Help required. I need a dress for my DSis's wedding in August. Its a fairly posh event but with a laid back vibe (large teepee style marquee in the grounds of a manor house).

I'm 5'4, size 8/10, long hair. Tend towards dressy.

DSis2 (not the one getting married) is wearing this:

Just remembered - DS always says, no one will be looking at you - the bride is the centre of attention.

No disrespect to your son (whose styling advice is vital to this thread) but people go to weddings expecting to see and be seen.

The photos will be visible forever.

The bride and groom surely expect their guests to do their best to decorate the day.

How many people meet their partner at a wedding?

We are human beings. A wedding is like any other event outside one’s own home - you signal who you feel you are via your clothes. Otherwise we might as well all wear sheets with a hole cut out for the head.

Don’t go for any of the needle and thread dresses, I love them too and bought one last year for a wedding… the dress was beautiful.. I however looked ridiculous in it. They’re cut with a very high waist so don’t flatter your natural waistline and they add at least 1 dress size to how you look because of all the ruffles
