A tinted moisturiser/cc cream for 50+ skin? Not Erborian!

I spent 40 on the Erborian CC cream and it's just too orange, despite the woman in space NK hard selling it to me 🤨

I do love the texture and the feel of it though. Anything else that people recommend? The Trinny BFF sounds good but they are out of stock in my colour.

Have you tried the nude colour of erborian. I think it’s darker than Clair but not orange at all

TheOGCCL · 24/01/2023 21:05

I think everyone has a different idea of what’s light/heavy and you get light foundations and heavy cc creams.

Glossier skin tint is the sheerest thing I’ve come across.

I like Nars radiant tinted moisturiser, genuinely just looks like your skin but better. Good range of shades.

Estée Lauder daywear tinted moisturiser

Ravageur · 24/01/2023 21:12

Oh I don't think that worked! Anyway it's a universal tiny that adapts to your own tone. Sometimes I mix a little highlighter in on nights out. I've used this for a long long time

thinkingcapon · 25/01/2023 06:52

Which colour did you get from eborbian?

Hollyhead · 25/01/2023 06:56

Just a warning La Roche pose tinted anthelios made me look like an Oompa Loompa - ‘universally flattering shade’ my arse!

Im hoping to try an IT one soon.

HamFrancisco · 25/01/2023 07:31

Another vote for Glossier skin tint. It doesn't moisturise though, it's more a sheer foundation, but it looks great, isn't expensive and lasts forever.

Greatly · 25/01/2023 07:41

I'm a bit wary of the 'adaptive' ones. I've got dark blonde grey hair and blue eyes and quite palish but goldeny skin. Lots seem to go orange.

She tried the clair then said it was too light and said the dore was better - I looked in the mirror and it looked great in the flatteringly lit shop.

She said clair was too light for me

Take it back! They should swap it for you for the lighter one.

I don't live anywhere near a Space NK sadly otherwise I would have. Bought it in London when I was there before Christmas

Clair Erborian BB is in no way orange or too light.

NotQuitePerfect · 25/01/2023 07:52

Agree with the Estée Lauder recommendation. I am similar colouring to OP and I promise this never looks orangey. Properly moisturising too, no chalkiness and light, refreshing scent. I love it.

I would email customer services. I've done this with Clinique as I couldn't get to the store. I bought a powder and it was completely the wrong shade once I was at home and they refunded me. I wouldn't wrote off £40 in a hurry. The shade Clare is lovely and nothing orange or too light.

Greatly · 25/01/2023 08:02

It's the CC cream not the BB cream. They seem quite different

I use the green Erborian, which blend completely into my skin tone, I can just put it into my cheeks if I want to and you can't tell other than in tones down the redness. They should swap it if they've sold you the wrong shade.

I’m really liking Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue.

I second this. Been using it for years.

Cath667 · 25/01/2023 08:21

I'm in my 50s and I find tinted moisturiser hit and miss. I think some make me look older. I really like Trinny BFF though, especially in summer.

I'm currently using a By Terry one which is nice but I wouldn't repurchase. I disliked Erborian and Beauty Pie.

I found the Boots No 7 Essentially Natural foundation a good alternative to tinted moisturiser. It's very sheer and quite matt compared to some tinted moisturisers which I find too shiny.

RampantIvy · 25/01/2023 08:31

I'm 64, and Boots no 7 City Light tinted moisturiser suits my skin.

Mystery2345 · 25/01/2023 08:31

I'd try to return the orange one

nickyschof · 25/01/2023 08:36

Try this. It's from Amazon, goes on like a moisturiser then adjusts to your own skin tone.

A tinted moisturiser/cc cream for 50+ skin? Not Erborian!
WithIcePlease · 25/01/2023 08:38

I've also liked No 7 city light tinted moisturiser. I've got Revolution pro Creme skin protector CC skin tint recently which I like but it's adaptive

ilovebrie8 · 25/01/2023 08:50

I have Clair it’s not orange at all. Dore is much too dark I think you have the wrong shade...can you ring them ask for a swap?

stevalnamechanger · 25/01/2023 09:17

You can easily resell it in the fb groups ! I love the garnier tinted moisturizer cheap and cheerful

Laura mercier is great too - pricier option

Girlintheframe · 25/01/2023 09:27

Bare minerals complexion rescue is my favourite. Im late 40s
