M&S 12 days of Sparks - it's back!

Can't see a thread, please correct me if I'm wrong.

M&S has brought back its 12 days of Sparks offers. It was notoriously bad last year, but day 1 and I have a free hand cream to pick up in store. Not sure if I'll get the chance, but seems a stronger start than last year at least.

20% off Nobody’s Child, won’t be using that one. Oh well, at least I got a free bottle of gin. Everything else was meh.

darisdet · 12/12/2022 01:51

20% off jeans and jeggings for the final day. I have never bought anything like that from them, and not about to.

Bah humbug to that.

darisdet · 12/12/2022 01:53

I too got a Percy bauble at the beginning but predictably was out of stock.

ChessieFL · 12/12/2022 03:43

20% off women’s knitwear. I do get the golden treat tomorrow but I know that will just be a competition entry. Very underwhelmed.

JulesJules · 12/12/2022 06:09

12th day - 20%off bags. I think this has been really disappointing, the only freebie I was offered was a Percy pig plush bauble which I don't want and is out of stock anyway. I bet the golden reward is a prize draw entry.

OneFrenchEgg · 12/12/2022 07:12

20% off merino

Itsnotallblackandwhite · 12/12/2022 07:12

Well mine was crap 😒
Day 1 - free Robin ornament (non to be found anywhere - unused)
Day 2 - 20% off skincare (unused)
Day 3 - 15% off M&S collection wine (£2.10 saved)
Day 4 - £1 off shortbread tin (unused)
Day 5 - 20% off cushions (unused)
Day 6 - Tonies bundle offer (unused)
Day 7 - 20% off bras (£4 saved)
Day 8 - save up to 29% on Samsung (unused)
Day 9 - 15% off Stilton (🤢unused)
Day 10 - 15% off santa bog roll (won't use)
Day 11 - 20% off womens socks (won't use)
Day 12 - 20% off womens dressing gowns (won't use)

I get the X% off offers all year round so nothing special in that list. I would have had the Robin ornament if I could have found one. I'd have been happy with a bag of free Percy Pigs 😢

Not holding my breath for the golden key thing tomorrow...

Itsnotallblackandwhite · 12/12/2022 07:17

and I've spent ££thousands in M&S this year...

Eaumyword · 12/12/2022 07:17

20% off vests and camisoles 🙄
Literally nothing free except for percy pig bauble.
No extra reward for opening all 12 doors.

Nottogetapenny · 12/12/2022 07:18

20% off men’s casual trousers today, it doesn’t include jeans or joggers so no good to me!

ByTheGrace · 12/12/2022 07:19

20% off knitwear. Meh.

Peridot1 · 12/12/2022 07:27

I opened day 12 yesterday by mistake and got 20% off tights. So opened day 11 today. 20% of socks.

I think M&S marketing team win the prize for disappointing the most amount of people in a 12 day period.

Gooseysgirl · 12/12/2022 08:14

20% off bags and accessories - might use

hoochyhag · 12/12/2022 08:48

Is that it? Gosh how disappointing.

Zeeza · 12/12/2022 08:54

I dont expect lots of freebies. It does piss me off when people who spend thousands get an out of stock bauble but the people who only downloaded the app for this promotion get a bottle.

The discounts were often silly tho. Give a whole shortbread with a cup of coffee. It would still make them profit.

Give 20pc or 25pc off a product, not 15.

FlySwimmer · 12/12/2022 09:00

I got 20% off Goodmove clothing on my last day. I will actually use that as I buy gym stuff from this range.

When do we get the ‘golden reward’? Is it tomorrow?

My 12 days:

Day 1: free Percy pigs
Day 2: 20% off Prosecco (tried to claim, they didn’t have the specific range in any shop 🙄)
Day 3: Tonies bundle
Day 4: 20% off cushions
Day 5: £1 off shortbread lantern (wanted to use this, as often buy biscuits as gift for PILs, but I very likely won’t get to the shop by the end of today)
Day 6: Samsung offer
Day 7: £1 off light-up truffle tin (used this as gift for relative)
Day 8: 20% off women’s trousers
Day 9: 20% off plants
Day 10: 20% off skincare
Day 11: 20% off bras
Day 12: 20% off Goodmove

someonecookmydinnerplease · 12/12/2022 09:06

It's like they've looked at my shopping habits and decided that all my 'gifts' (shit discounts) should be on things I don't buy!
I've had 3 children's discounts- I haven't got kids!
I feel a bit pissed of actually. First world problems I know but I shop in M&S food at least twice a week so they've built up a good record of my shopping habits, absolutely none of the offers I've had relate to stuff I buy. Feel like saying Fuck You M&S!

funnelfanjo · 12/12/2022 09:09

Absolutely rubbish. The usual Sparks offers throughout the year are at least based on my usual spending patterns and are of some use about once a month. The only “free” item was the stocking lights, and when I visited M&S at the Trafford Centre last week they only had a few decorations left from the entire range. What’s the point of offering a free item if you’ve not got enough stock?

Feels like I’m in a weird relationship with m&s. I should be a core customer of theirs - middle aged, loyal. Bought clothes and food from them all my adult life. Nowadays I only get my underwear from them and food spend is down as they dropped/simplified a lot of their ranges during Covid and never brought them back.

Like lots of people, I wish they’d go back to good quality wardrobe basics, in cuts and colours that are fashionable but not “trendy”, especially office wear shirts and trousers and skirts. I’ve never been particularly interested in fashion and clothes shopping but wanted to look smart at work. Years ago I could go into m&s a couple of times at year for a couple of new items to refresh my work wardrobe without any bother. Nowadays I’m just grateful for WFH and a trend for more casual wear in the office.

ofmybloodyself · 12/12/2022 09:14

Well, you're all making good points here. Aren't loyalty cards supposed to mine our info so that they effectively tailor offers towards what will tempt us to spend? My Nectar card does that. The sparks offers, 12 days and throughout the year, just don't seem to do that at all. The only link I ever see to my spending habits is to offer me 20% off something specific (eg kids nightwear) immediately after I've just bought exactly that, which is beyond pointless (apart from the time I hadn't taken the tags off so I just returned them, got a refund and bought them again with the discount straight away!) I would love to know why they don't bother to do this.

HeatwaveToNightshade · 12/12/2022 09:14

20% off women's tights and socks. DP (male!) and two sons could be doing with socks. Me, not so much. Why is it restricted to women's socks? I buy the socks for the whole feckin family🤣🤣

LadyEloise1 · 12/12/2022 10:34

As my toes keep going through their Body Sensor tights I won't be repurchasing.
It doesn't happen with tights from other retailers.
I loved their Silky Soft Tights. Not sure they still do them.

wewishyouamerrychristmas · 12/12/2022 10:49

I honestly wish they hadn't bothered. It's been a complete waste for me. I wish they'd just go back to friends and family.

I don't was to save 50p on toilet roll.

Really disappointed M&S.

zighead · 12/12/2022 10:59

It has been very disappointing. I got 20% off women's tights and socks today.
I like the light up lantern I got on day one and used the 20% off women's pyjamas yesterday but apart from that they've been useless.

LBB2020 · 12/12/2022 11:10

Mine weren’t great, won’t be using them I don’t think!:
1: free stocking lights
2: 15% off cream liqueur range
3: 20% decorations
4: £1 off shortbread lantern
5: 32% off Tonies bundle
6: 29% off Samsung
7: 15% off Stilton cheese
8: 20% off dresses and jumpsuits
9: 20% off Christmas tree chocolate box
10: 20% off skincare
11: 20% off bras
12: 20% off knitwear

LookItsMeAgain · 12/12/2022 11:26

20% off curtains and cushions today. Day 12.

Shite.

Nothing free apart from Percy Pigs and when I was in their store I picked up the wrong sort of Percy Pig sweets and didn't even get them free either!

Really disappointed in M&S so I am
