I’ve only bought one beauty advent but I am sure it has influenced in other areas as usual we have four advent calendars in our house for four people. This year I appear to have 11… 😳

Including two from Smiggle which I couldn’t resist once they dropped in price so now my girls have one each to open between Boxing Day and their January birthdays… They are so delighted at this unusual prospect so I must thank you all!

Darn it, went to the House of Fraser site but it won't load the calendar page. I think that means they've now sold out.

Rituals might just tempt me. Lib have a Christmas knockdown offer now on their collection boxes. Calendar stands at 139 - though think I would get another 15% off as a lib pro.

Am so enjoying this thread. I love everyone’s excitement tinged with guilt and ‘oh sod it I’m worth it attitude’! And the ‘I’m feeling guilty so I’ll buy someone else one to alleviate that guilt’!

My haul is Flannels, Glossybox and a Hotel Chocolat dark chocolate one. I also got some Clinique with a free gift and the mac BF kit.

Everyone knows what they are getting for Christmas in our house this year. Our DC are adult and almost adult, and everyone has chosen one main gift. I’m going to hang stockings for the 4 of us about a week before, and we can all add any little bits we see for each other in our stockings (no peeking). I’m going to put my Clinique free gift and mac set in mine, as everyone else is male and basically clueless, so I’m guaranteed something nice 😁

I have Liberty, Flannels, M&S, H&B and Sockshop for me. Homemade (by me) and a chilli sauce one for DH. To share: Degustabox and a teapigs each. Degusta not intentional as it was intended as a gift but they took too long for delivery. Plus a chocolate one each, and a pet one for each of the dogs. Oh - and a facemask one I got in the summer. I'm still furiously watching for any more price drops I actually have nowhere to put them all, either. Typing this out makes we want to check into advent rehab

It’s that stage in life when you know all presents are going to be a disappointment, so it’s easier to buy your own. I do hate opening presents for that very reason. I sound ungrateful, but I call it realism! 😁

This. I’m a huge reader (I love reading, but I’m also a writer, and also doing post-grad, so I have multiple reasons for reading) and every year when people ask what I want I give them my Amazon wish-list. And every year what happens? They don’t get me books. Mostly because ‘you read weird things.’

Thankfully, ‘Santa’ listens and somehow, magically, books appear anyway! 🤫

There's always a waifs and strays one and, in my opinion, it's the best, as you get to live vivaceously through everyone else too. Plus the degustabox, jam, tea etc ones all end up in there too.

Me too. They still have only 50 sold on the TikTok shop compared to LiB at 1215 so surely a price drop must be heading our way.

I love the little jams (what’s with it tasting better because it’s in teeny tiny jars?!) but I’m on keto so I will be living vicariously through you all in the misc thread. Jealous!

I’m glad I’m not the only one with a long list of Advents! I could never admit it in real life when everyone is penny pinching.
I prioritise spending on beauty items and won’t need to buy anything for ages after all this

I’ve gone from none ever to two this year and I’m definitely holding this thread responsible for both and in particular for: the Flannels one, my sadness I didn’t get M&S as I was trying to be good and now thinking about LiB a lot and waiting to see if it’s reduced - my Facebook has just turns into one long beauty advert as I click on them all!! Looking forward to the flannels opening thread but saving JL for Jan and going to unfortunately miss out on the thread to save the surprises!
