CaptainCod · 30/01/2008 20:04

Got this one here recently. Thought it would be too light and insipid for me but it's great! I don't apply it as per The Instructions but I like it.

Dropdeadfred · 30/01/2008 20:06

Tutter, I did the same..I can't be arsed trying to put it on from polybags..I do like the full size eyeshadows I bought from there though

These are cheaper than your refills Cod here

Tinker · 30/01/2008 20:06

Bugger. The one for green eyes anyway.

GetOrfMoiLand · 30/01/2008 20:08

Want the urban decay stuff. But not the refills, the packaging looks swoon. Which is what my daughter would think and it will get pinched.

Dropdeadfred · 30/01/2008 20:12

Getof...love the name.

My link has UD eyeshadow not refill and cheap too

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/01/2008 20:12

I don't wear much make up, but when I do I love this from Bobbi Brown. I have it in 'sterling', and find it can be applied simply with a finger stroke.

GetOrfMoiLand · 30/01/2008 20:23

Ooh thanks dropdead

Can feel my debit card twitching!

Sunshinemummy · 30/01/2008 20:30

That Mac pigment colour sounds v. similar to my Chatecaille one which I must reiterate is lovely.

Personally I like Ruby & Millie brushes. Not too expensive and have some really useful shapes.

janeite · 30/01/2008 20:30

Thanks for the link to the brushes Cod; which ones do you use - there are so many that I got confused! Currently I use No 7 ones; just bog-standard eyeshadow brushes. The Mac ones are a bit more expensive but not as much as I thought they'd be.

CaptainCod · 30/01/2008 21:12

its best to go and get advice really

autograph makeup really nice in m&s but i think a lot has been discontinued. i had a lovely propelling eyepencil in purple. not possible for me to buy per una, even in makeup - today i saw mustardy tartan knitwear which was terribly upsetting.

lilylolo foundation very good, have reordrered more sample pots. it is foundation for people who won't wear those cream ones.

SalD · 31/01/2008 12:42

My ultimate everyday (including special occasions) is Bobbi Brown Stone. Loads of people I know have it; whatever colour your eyes are, it seems to enhance it. Don't know how it does this and don't care. It's fab.

Buckets · 31/01/2008 16:04

Recommended for newbies to make-up:
Rimmel's eyeshadow trio in Orion (light to dark brown shades) £5.49. You just don't need anything else!
*Suits every colouring,
*Has its own applicator (can't be doing with mucky brushes about the place or in make-up bag)
*Lets you experiment with blending and
*You can wet the applicator with the dark brown for an eyeliner effect.
*Lasts ages

cod i have another thtread asking this VERY QUESTION

(what colour to go with my eyes and skin tone)

i ahve greeny-grey eyes

was thinking i have the go to the opposite side of the colour spectrum to enhance

so -purple?

but i only EVER wear browns, bronzes etc so am Scared

Tutter · 01/02/2008 08:39

anyway i have ordered a few barry ms

purples, violets (inc greyish smokey ones)

and some khaki greeny ones

and a bronze i think

still may wander on to mac/stila/urban decay websites later...

Tutter · 01/02/2008 08:40

(i am wearinf a dark purple silk top on my forthcoming Big Night Out)

liz12 · 01/02/2008 10:23

Big Urban Decay fan - the colours, the textures, just gorgeous. Some of the best blues out there right now and for nights out where people say 'I love your eyes' try the Heavy Metal glitter in tubes over one of the eyeshadows as a liner along the top lids.
