@Farah22 Cosmetopia Digest just posted her review of 2022. Of the 24/25 day ones, she rates Sephora, Flannels, JL and Latest In Beauty.

I've succumbed to JL as that seemed to have the most things I needed.

Hi ladies,

How do you get the BLC22 to work please? I might get it and add a couple of items to reach the 250 and get the free beauty gift. I don’t see some small size products a problem as they are so handy when travelling and allow you to try new brands and see what works.

I got the Space NK calendar last year and the year before. I used most of the products and was happy with the contents.

out of all the calendars this year, which one has the most skincare products please and in full size? I’m not that interested in make up.

Thanks a lot and happy shopping x

For me if you're looking for full sizes it's Latest in Beauty. I went for LiB and so pleased with it - it has full sizes of:

•	Shiseido Wrinkle Smoothing Day Cream SPF 25 50ml £80
•	Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil 30ml FULL SIZE £55
  • Kate Somerville ExfoliKate™ Intensive Exfoliating Treatment 60ml £78
  • Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser 200ml £37

    • Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask 28g FULL SIZE £25
    • Medik8 Sleep Glycolic 30ml FULL SIZE £37
    • Lixirskin Vitamin C Paste 30ml FULL SIZE £19
    • First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum 50ml FULL SIZE £32

  • Susanne Kaufmann Eye Rescue Serum 10ml FULL SIZE £80

An absolute bargain if it's skincare you like

Dailymash · 05/11/2022 22:09

Has anyone found with previous calendars they have liked products enough to repurchase?

I’ve only ever bought the M&S calendar but I’ve since bought more than once:

  • This Works pillow spray
  • Nuxe Sun SPF 50
  • Philip Kingsley Elasticizer
  • M&S Formula Absolute sleep cream

These are all things that I wouldn’t have looked for or tried without having a chance to test them. But, without sounding dramatic, they have been game changers!

This year I’ve gone for JL and got the beauty box with it which has been a nice pre advent treat! I already LOVE the Elemis eye cream. I’m really looking forward to starting the calendar next month!

Ooh yes LOADS
Off the top of my head....
It cosmetics sleep cream
Bramble sleep spray
By Terry rose lip balm
Aromatherapy associates body oils and diffuser
Dermalogica pre cleanse
Aerins amber perfume
REN aha/bha tonic
Medik8 c-tret
Goop insean sunscreen
Various moisturisers (I keep a spreadsheet)

KimmySchmitt · 05/11/2022 22:28

@Dailymash So many things! The M&S Formula sleep cream is one of my holy grails too, discovered in the calendar last year. I really liked the Alpha H Rose Liquid Gold but it was limited edition, might buy the normal Liquid Gold next.

From a previous ASOS calendar - the Coco and Eve hair mask

From Space NK 2020 - REN Ready Steady Glow, Living Proof dry shampoo and Kate Somerville retinol moisturiser.

Funnily enough, as much as l thought JLP was brilliant last year I didn't actually discover any new repurchases. Maybe because some of the best contents (for me) were things I already used.

I always enjoy the makeup components too, but they last so long I haven't had to repurchase anything.

Is LiB the same as the Sunday Times? I’m confused. Are there any offers on it?

Solscat · 05/11/2022 22:38

Yes it's the latest in beauty / Sunday times advent calendar... code STSAC20 gets you 20% off.

Solscat · 05/11/2022 22:40

Oops no it's £20, not 20%!!

Thanks. Anyone else got this one?

Doubleraspberry · 06/11/2022 09:30

Things I have bought:

Christophe Robin hair masque
Rodial Bee Venom cleanser
In Transit Camera Close Up
Shay and Blue perfumes
Diptyque perfumes

There must be more. But I also find I’ve got too much stuff I need to try to justify paying more for full size of things!

WhenisitmyturntobePM · 06/11/2022 10:22

Favourite discoveries for me are

Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum cream (hate that I love this)
Living Proof dry shampoo and weightless mask
Origins Ginzing eye cream
Emma Hardie cleansing balm
Malin and Goetz face moisturiser
Summer Fridays jet lag mask

I do. Zeeza posted that TIMESAC30 might get you £30 off now. Raging I bought it at almost full price but ah well, I really wanted it and didn't want to risk it selling out. LiB, John Lewis and Sephora are the best calendars this year IMO, Cosmetopia is spot on (as usual tbh)

Piccalino3 · 06/11/2022 10:55

Harris's advent calendar is up. I've been looking at this all along... but now wondering if I should wait to see if they offer an incentive.....

Solscat · 06/11/2022 10:58

I was really excited by Harrods when I first saw the contents. But now when I look at it, I don't think it's a great one this year. There's a lot of 'nice to have' kind of bonus products for me, rather than much that I'm actually really keen to try. I think I might wait for a discount or gift with purchase too and see how I feel about it then...

Piccalino3 · 06/11/2022 11:01

Do you think they offer a discount or GWP @Solscat? I think they're very late to the party this year so I'm hoping they will need to!

I meant Harrods, not Harris's obvs!

Solscat · 06/11/2022 11:11

I'm not sure to be honest. I don't think they have in previous years, so it might be unlikely. But then again from what previous posters have said, people just aren't buying this year, so they might be forced to do something different...

Ohdear7 · 06/11/2022 11:12

I’ve also got the LIB Sunday Times one, alongside the JL.

The JL is my Christmas treat and the LIB seemed like a ‘sensible’ purchase because of the value and all the full sizes. It’ll save me money on skincare in the future, or at least that’s how I’ve justified it to myself! I would be purchasing an Olaplex, cleanser, Shiseido moisturiser, hyaluronic serum equiv to the first aid one, Brazilian bum bum, dry shampoo and a nice shower cream over the next year so it made sense. Looking forward to trying the Medik8 sleep glycolic in there and the boy smells candle too

Ohdear7 · 06/11/2022 11:16

Plus I got it with the £20 off and the free summer box (which was ok, some things in there might go on Vinted!)

Is that the best place to sell the unwanted stuff do you think? I have a few bits I need to offload

Farah22 · 06/11/2022 11:54

helloo :)

how did you get the summer box please? I only managed to get the discount of £20

thanks

Piccalino3 · 06/11/2022 11:54

@Solscat that's exactly what I was thinking. Will my nerve hold out to wait a bit though...

I think from reading back up the thread it was an offer for last weekend only.

Ohdear7 · 06/11/2022 19:29

It was an offer if you bought the box last weekend. Think the £20 offer is still available though with STSAC20, or £30 if you are a Times subscriber

Ohdear7 · 06/11/2022 19:34

I think so, I’ve managed to sell a few items via Vinted so far. I’ve also seen quite a few items from the cult beauty and space nk advents on there

Zeeza · 06/11/2022 19:41

I think the times offer would work for anyone
