I’ve caved and treated myself to a Holland and Barrett. It’s got things I like and want to try.

Such as 🤔🤗 ....

I thought it looked a bit TOO natural and not fun but what items appealed to you please ?

KimmySchmitt · 15/11/2022 23:25

@diamondsandrose I've got it too, I agree it's more functional than fun so it's my second calendar. The serums and essential oil (for my diffuser) appealed, plus I've been wanting to try the natural deodorant, shampoo bar and Weleda skin food for ages but not enough to actually go and buy them. This seemed a good way to give them a go

MidnightMeltdown · 16/11/2022 01:03

I think Holland and Barrett is quite good for £35.

I've had the shampoo/conditioner bars before and I don't like them, but I wouldn't mind trying the natural deodorant, the shower gel, the Weleda body lotion, the cleansing balm and the face scrub

CornishTiger · 16/11/2022 07:20

@diamondsandrose most of my beauty stuff has moved towards natural over last few years.

Fancied trying Vitaskin Vitamin C Cleansing Balm
Evolve Hyaluronic Serum ( I like evolve). The bamboo swipes will be good for me. The body wash I’ll use.

it’s more functional than fun but I’ve never had a beauty advent and the children and hubby always get themed ones.

Passmeaplacard · 16/11/2022 08:18

Cult Beauty has £35 off today with code COUNTDOWN, they must be really struggling to shift these

That’s not enough. If they knocked, say, £70 off and included the glow bag, I’d probably bite.

Couperi · 16/11/2022 09:02

I wonder if HN will drop? That's the one I was really interested in. Too much at £250 though. CB still not tempting me.

Passmeaplacard · 16/11/2022 09:07

@MyOtherCarIsAHearse same here really, part of me thinks why would I bother just now as they might knock it down further in the next few weeks

LookdeepintotheParka · 16/11/2022 09:21

I had H&B calendars for 2 years in a row. Found the first one was really good- lots of new and different brands to try! Was disappointed second time around snd ended up with loads of stuff that sat in my cupboard for ages.

Loved the Evolve serum and introduced me to other skincare brands e.g. Sukin that I hadn't previously tried.

I'd definitely recommend if you haven't tried H&B before.

Giftwithpurchase · 16/11/2022 09:23

@Couperi I'm interested in whether HN will be discounted too - it's the only other one I'm v tempted by right now.

My Degusta arrived today hooray - in a massive box but not that heavy. Guessing/hoping it's filled with loads of crisps!

gianfrancogorgonzola · 16/11/2022 09:28

CB was so far overpriced to begin with. They'll need to discount it to £150 ish before people start biting imo.

Still dithering over the JL but like a PP I think I'll wait to see if it comes down further.

next year will be very interesting won't it!

gianfrancogorgonzola · 16/11/2022 09:31

just looked at HN - too many vouchers for me, I'm not interested in needing to buy more stuff / shlep into the shops. Just a treat to make december a little brighter and some new / luxe products I wouldn't usually try. Not sure any of them really hit the mark this year.

MyOtherCarIsAHearse · 16/11/2022 09:43

I’m still waiting for the more expensive Rituals to drop, then that will be me done. I refuse to buy it otherwise.

It's the fragrances that I'm interested in. The vouchers seem wasteful to me as I'm not near a store. Agree about Degusta - It's a huge box!

polmnlj · 16/11/2022 11:07

Macmillan now £38 at Boots.

LookdeepintotheParka · 16/11/2022 13:09

Me too @MyOtherCarIsAHearse I think the Rituals calendars are overpriced this year but would buy the premium one at a discount (looks like oos on their website though?)

Maranello · 16/11/2022 13:37

I think Harvey Nicks have really misfired with their calendar. Only 12 full sizes - at 250 quid! - and five vouchers when they don't have many stores, making it a chore or impossible for a lot of potential buyers to use them. Looking at the vouchers, you'd need multiple trips to use them too. It smacks of them assuming a lot of the vouchers won't be redeemed, which is probably the case but feels a bit cynical of them.

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 16/11/2022 13:54

I would have considered HN if it was discounted but they've just shut the shop in my city so that's a no now.

H3lloMums · 16/11/2022 14:11

Hello another lurker here and have only just seen that the JL calendar has gone down in price. They wouldn't price match me or refund as it's over 35 days so I've had to re-buy it to return the original - will be keeping an eye now if it goes down further!! bonkers. Will be sending an email as it seems to depend on who you spoke to according to this thread :(

PomRuns · 16/11/2022 14:15

Can you return if after 35 days though? They also wouldn't price match me, I might email.

yes but only because of the extended xmas return period

PomRuns · 16/11/2022 14:21

Ah thanks -I've emailed them.

polmnlj · 16/11/2022 14:27

Some of the HN vouchers work in Liverpool but not all. Not sure if I would buy the calendar if heavily discounted.

Not about beauty advent calendars for once, but for Pat McGrath fans: the Black Friday sale has started on the PMG website: 30% off (or 35% or even 40% if spending more) including the newly released mega-palette. And an HG product me - her skin fetish foundation - is currently a bargainous £25.

Delivery is free to U.K. and all duties are paid and included in the price.

No, I don’t have any ties to PMG, I’m just a big fan of her make up!

Oooh I love her make up thanks 😊
