Affordable running leggings that don’t fall down?

Bookaholic73 · 11/10/2022 15:48

I’m looking for some affordable leggings for my run, but I can’t find any that don’t fall down after 5 mins.

I’ve been recommended Sweaty Betty and also LuLu Lemon, but I don’t want to spend that much in a pair of leggings.

How are your running leggings falling down?! Surely you have got several sizes too big or too small?

I can't even see how a cheap TKMaxx or Sports Direct pair could fall down if they are the right size and made of shiny Lycra?!

Must be my shape! I'm tall hourglass with a high up waist so they rarely come up high enough. Fine walking, but the motion of running seems to work the waistband off my waist and then they're gone.

My sweaty Betty "zero gravity" do not live up to their name but at least have a drawstring. M&S good move also have a drawstring and are better because of the really deep rise.

Wish someone would make leggings dungarees though, because I'd rather not have to run with a tight drawstring.

Another vote for CRZ from Amazon. I have 3 pairs and now my teens are buying them. Over a year old and no loss in shape or structure. I'm an hour glass with 26 inch waist and 38 inch hips and they don't move, roll down or anything. I run everyday and do yoga in them with no issues. Between 19-24£ a pair depending on colour.

I wear Lucy Lockets but only buy them in the sale section.
Really comfortable and don't move.

dgirluk · 12/10/2022 12:39

I had the same issue, but I find any leggings with a waist tie stay up fine. Mine are a mix of M&S, Nike, and AlpKit, but they all have a waist tie and stay up. I don't tie them up tight at all, but just enough that the movement doesn't wriggle them down. I'm also hourglass, might be the problem - small waist but bigger bum/hips (at least on me!)

Decathlon Kalenji - brilliant & a bargain!
I love their full length, three quarter length & shorts.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/10/2022 13:18

I've a couple of different pairs of Karrimors from sports direct. I don't run much now but they were fine for that; one pair needs its draw string doing up quite tightly when I'm wearing them for Pilates and getting into various contortions and stretches.

QuietNeighbour · 12/10/2022 13:26

I’ve never had this problem. Most of my run leggings are from Next, cheap with attractive patterns and very comfy. No drawstring. I’ve also had some good ones from H&M and Ronhill

Turnaroundandigone · 12/10/2022 13:28

Decathlon for cheap, Tikiboo for a little more expensive.

FrozenGhost · 12/10/2022 13:33

Same problem here, for me the problem is that my legs are comparatively big, the size that fits on my legs is slightly too big at the waist band. Any brand that suits fat legs and cankles havers?

hoorayandupsherises · 12/10/2022 13:45

Decathlon for me too: cheap, durable and flattering - plus they all have drawstrings.

nottheoptics · 12/10/2022 13:46

Asos 4505 drawstring waist. Never failed me.

IBelieveInAThingCalledScience · 12/10/2022 16:00

I have tested (almost) all brands.
My faves are:

Fabletics powerhold DO NOT budge during speed work or long runs. Ever.

Sweaty Betty and Lululemon are a close second, but depends on the fit.

BAM are good for long easy runs in very hot weather. Feels like you're naked (in a good way), but not as supportive

Fallstar · 12/10/2022 16:05

And yet another vote for CRZ from Amazon. They're not expensive and apparently are Lululemon duplicates. They're the only ones I wear and I've never had problems with them falling down. They're also squat-proof and have an adjustable waistband should you need it.

Sturdy by Design. Bright colours/patterns as well as plains, pockets, several leg lengths, drawstring waist. I bloody love mine.

Fabletics. 2 for £24 and then cancel. They are great leggings and never fall down

Came to say this. I got 2 quite different styles for my 2 for 24 and absolutely love both of them. Wear them constantly including for horse riding. Would probably pay full price for them

itsgettingweird · 12/10/2022 16:24

I wear the USA pro ones from sports direct. 2 for £24. They are the seam free ones and aren't shiny.

MrsDThomas · 12/10/2022 20:42

This is the very reason I always wear shorts to run. Ive tried lots of leggings and hate them for running.

i always go back to shorts.

Purplehonesty2 · 12/10/2022 20:45

I have high waisted LA gear ones and there is no way they could ever fall down as they are so tight. They suck me in too and I look very skinny til I take them off 😂

I also have under armour ones too which do the same thing.
