Affordable running leggings that don’t fall down?

Bookaholic73 · 11/10/2022 15:48

I’m looking for some affordable leggings for my run, but I can’t find any that don’t fall down after 5 mins.

I’ve been recommended Sweaty Betty and also LuLu Lemon, but I don’t want to spend that much in a pair of leggings.

My best running leggings are from Badass Mother Running. Search for the group on Facebook. They don't move at all. Failing that I've got a great pair from My Protein. Didn't know they did kit but am currently wearing mine and they're v comfy. Def Badass best though.

How are your running leggings falling down?! Surely you have got several sizes too big or too small?

I can't even see how a cheap TKMaxx or Sports Direct pair could fall down if they are the right size and made of shiny Lycra?!

EmmaH2022 · 11/10/2022 15:55

Also puzzled how leggings are falling down.

allabitmuch45 · 11/10/2022 15:57

My favourite running leggings are CRZ yoga ones. There are loads of different ones on Amazon. I trained for and ran a marathon wearing them and they never fall down on me. I tend to wear the "naked feeling" high waisted ones with pockets.

eurochick · 11/10/2022 15:58

Mine slip unless they have a drawstring.

Ronhill are best imo

I think it depends on shape
Anything without a drawstring slides down on me and I end up yanking them back up!

Pineappleskies · 11/10/2022 16:00

This has made me laugh a lot. Yeah I wear a lot of leggings but some brands do fall down!!

I realise how stupid it sounds. I think its because I am very short and some leggings the crotch is way, way too long.

So they 'fall down but yes they don't fall off. Still very annoying and uncomfortable.

Spanielsarepainless · 11/10/2022 16:01

Mine are M&S basic ones and don't move at all.

AriettyHomily · 11/10/2022 16:02

Fabletics. 2 for £24 and then cancel. They are great leggings and never fall down

I should have said they're around £25 a pair so nowhere near SB or Lululemon prices.

PhillyJoe · 11/10/2022 16:07

MY favourites are Lululemon but before I discovered them I got Kalenji Dry+ ones from Decathlon. So cheap and have a drawstring and side pockets.

tranquiltortoise · 11/10/2022 16:11

Leggings often fall down on me as well, I think it's just to do with body shape (have tried different sizes).

M&S tend to be OK, or otherwise maybe just wear a different style like jogging/ tracksuit bottoms instead? There's a massive trend for leggings but they're not always the most comfortable thing (for me).

Hjgfer · 11/10/2022 16:14

Most of my running gear was brought cheaply from Sports Direct. I have the same issue with running leggings and only found Sweaty Betty power leggings to stay up. They just had a huge sale which finished yesterday so I’ve snapped up some zero gravity leggings for half price. They might have a Black Friday sale next month?

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 11/10/2022 16:16

I have found Sweaty Betty to be the best and have got several pairs for £25-35 in their sales. M&S Goodmove range is also good.

Other brands don't fall down on me bait the SB ones really don't move at all and are very comfortable.

EmmaH2022 · 11/10/2022 18:18

Sorry I can't help but be jealous 😂
you must have tiny bums for leggings to fall down!

Picklewicklepickle · 11/10/2022 18:36

My favourites are Born Nouli and GAP ones but bought in the sale

HOTHotPeppers · 11/10/2022 18:38

I've always found H&M best. And they have fleecey lined ones for winter.

Farawayfromhere · 11/10/2022 18:39

I know they’re soooo expensive, and you have specially ruled them out because of this, but the Lululemon High rise align pants are just so good and last forever. They don’t fall down at all. Cost per wear is worth it if you can stretch to the original cost of them.

londonmummy1966 · 11/10/2022 18:41

I have very narrow hips (compared to my huge arse) and find that the only ones that really stay up are sweaty betty (power and zero gravity) and high rise lulu lemons. I know they are expensive but they last and last. You can usually pick them up relatively on ebay/vinted etc

Adieufattummy · 11/10/2022 18:44

I have these for running and they stay in place, high waisted and under a tenner. Definitely recommend

Drbrowns · 11/10/2022 18:44

I find only sweaty Betty power stay up on me. I know they’re pricey but they have sales on a lot, also they wash and dry really quickly so 2 pairs does me for 5days running/gym. They’re dry nearly as soon as they come out of the wash plus they have pockets for phone and keys.

legophoenix · 11/10/2022 18:45

Another vote for CRZ yoga from Amazon. So comfy and don't fall down (I also have this problem)
I've tried Nike, Under Armour and various others but these are the best! And v reasonable price!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 11/10/2022 18:47

Seek out Ron Hill leggings cheap on Amazon, their Run Every Day leggings are excellent.

Or Alpkit. Or scour TKMaxx - they had some Sweaty Betty leggings in in Leeds recently.

MintChocCornetto · 11/10/2022 18:49

Yeah you need high waisted/high rise leggings.

I have the same issue with ones that sit under my belly button, I can't wear Adidas, they are all too low cut

Some good suggestions in the thread - second the Decathlon & CRZ yoga tips. I buy Nike in the sale, rarely pay more than £25-35.

Wombat27A · 11/10/2022 18:59

My favourite exercise leggings are Asda. I have lots but I like those best.
