Tag worked for me btw. But weirdly I can’t seem to tag others 🤔.

I'm still here! I was weirdly thinking of this thread earlier as I found a baukjen dress for £2 Wink

I'll try to get my groove back on for the new thread. I've got totally out of the habit - and to be fair my summer outfits were mostly the least clothes I could get away with at age 47 as I melted - so pretty dull.

Sooverthemill and EllaPaella oh great! I am an avid second hand clothes buyer but no one around me is. I love seeing what people get and how they style items. I’m new here so thanks for replying. Unfortunately the weekdays for me are very boring, a uniform then straight home to pyjamas at the minute!

@Micksgoingtobeonthetelly I'm a bit of a charity shopper (understatement)

Thank you for the new thread @EllaPaella

@Softpebbles @margotLB your comments on v-necks and higher necklines struck a chord with me. The advice always seems to be that those with a bigger bust should wear v-necks but I just don't like them on me. And I love a polo neck! I feel more matronly in a v-neck than a polo, which seems to go completely against everything you read 🤷🏻‍♀️

I love your wide leg joggers @Softpebbles (and the sweaty Betty hoodie, I have one in burgundy it's so cosy)

@Micksgoingtobeonthetelly I've got a few lovely things from charity shops. I haven't tried vinted though.

Here's a recent charity shop jumper (originally new look) and jeans, M&S - thinking of re-dying these so they're a darker shade of black, has anyone done that before? I'm a bit nervous about what it might do to my washing machine!

Thank you @EllaPaella !

@Puddinandpie I saw your workshop photos in the last thread and spend good 5 minutes staring at all the decor. So fabulous!
Loved your outfit and hairstyle too!
I wish we could choose design for our house so that I could have at least beautiful wallpaper in the living room similar to the one you have. Maybe in the future we would have money for a makeover, but certainly not now. We bought our place this summer when it was still under construction and we didn’t have a clear image how the house would look like (and couldn’t ask for any alterations even if we wanted to). It’s a very typical Japanese house on the outside, I’d love it to have more character, but alas! I have invested though in some wall art and decorated one of the bookshelves in witchcore style. Your beautiful house is a true inspiration, I’d love to have my bedroom decorated in Victorian style (however I know DH would probably oppose it a lot!).

I went to a shopping mall today during lunch break to read a book at a cafe, and couldn’t resist taking a look at some of the shops. I loved this pink color on me (2nd photo) and the cardigan felt so fluffy and soft (it’s 90% wool 10% cashmere), but it’s so oversized! I’ve also found some interesting sweatshirts (3rd photo), what do you think, should I have bought one?Grin
T-shirt - Sezane
Skirt - Uniqlo

@PalacePaper - I dye black jeans to refresh the colour using Dylon All in one fabric dye pods - used to be under a fiver, around £7 now. Your washing machine has to be scrupulously clean. Any bits of liquid detergent clinging to the pipes will pick up the colour and forever deposit spots on later loads of washing.

My machine is fairly new and I keep it clean. In addition I run the standard drum clean program (over 2 hours, 60 degrees) with a squirt of cheap bleach before and after dyeing. All this adds to the cost of dyeing but I can refresh 3 pairs at a time.

Yay, a shiny new thread. Thank you for being so organised @EllaPaella. I am WFH today - trying to have a more relaxing day after another mental week, but we will see! Pic to follow when I get my act together and decide what to wear - I have meetings, so its a news-reader-chic day, lol, with a smarter top than bottom!

@PalacePaper You look lovely. Regarding wearing the right clothes for your shape etc I’ve come to the conclusion that I will trust my instincts and wear what makes me feel good. I think if you feel good in something you’ll look good in it. I was also recommended to wear 50s style dresses with nipped in waists and full skirts, they can look lovely on others but it’s just not my personality or lifestyle. Clothes and personality go very much hand in hand I think, there is no one rule fits all.

@Softpebbles and @PalacePaper, my thoughts on v-necks as a fellow larger busted lady.....

I've got a lovely navy merino v neck, but very rarely wear it and I've finally worked out why. I think for v necks, a looser, baggier style is more flattering and somehow feels more "current". And I also think that the more fitted styles, particularly in navy/grey/black can end up having a bit of a school uniform look about them so look a bit harsh, they take a bit of effort to style in a way to avoid that, eg the idea that's already been suggested of a pretty blouse underneath.

Lovely dress @Greyhairwarmheart .

Making the most of being able to wear a blouse today before we move into only-knitwear-will-do weather. Everything from Zara!
