Beauty advent 22 part 2 (massive spoilers)

I don't know the etiquette of starting a runover of someone else's thread. I hope this is OK.

Reminder advent22 gives a hand-wash and handcream free gift on space nk.

I bought it, but now I have alight regret. I should have held out to see what harrods had.

The CEO cream wasn't 5oz as had been trailed on many calendar sites, but 0.5oz, 15ml. 5oz would have been a ridiculous size so that makes sense.

What’s the best looking one for a fashionable 18 year old this year? Last year I bought ASOS, before that Look Fantastic. Can go up to £150, Charlotte Tilbury perhaps but is it boring to get all one brand?

Mine's getting a mac one. Over your budget (and mine 🙄) at 165. But she loved it last year.

Really great thread,I've gone for the JL for the past couple of years and without this thread I would not have seen the Liberty one, or known about the quarterly boxes so - Thankyou 😊 I'm really interested in getting it. Please does anyone know how quickly they tend to sell out? Should I get in quick? As a new customer I think I would also get 15% discount so that would really help too...

I would be surprised if they sold out by the end of October. But if you really, really want it you shouldn't take the risk. If you don't get it then there will be other lovely options.

I think the 15pc discount applies. It did for me 5 years ago 🤣

You won't get the 15pc discount if you are a beauty drop subscriber I think. So if you are doing both then buy the calendar first.

I've added the Niche Beauty one to my spreadsheet. On its own, CB is definitely coming out on top, but when you add the GWP in, and take the new customer 15% discount into account, it's closer. CB looks like it's still ahead but I need to go through them in a bit more detail. I'm still struggling to get over the notepad and pencil in NB though.

I'm still undecided between JL and CB but I need to nip into the city centre for something tomorrow so I'm going to go to JL and try out the fragrances/have a look at the MAC lipstick colour in the hope that that will help me decide!

I was so sure last year. CB and Liberty. Got both, really happy with both though a couple of dud products as always.

This year... not feeling it as much. JL maybe.

Space NK to me looks like a mix of the calendars I got last year. Not bad, but no real surprises.

Hello, delurking to say have just ordered Liberty!

My first time for Liberty, missed last year and had Fenwick the year before. Considered Flannels until I really had a look at the make up products.

I'm very excited, love the advent calendar thread.

Ordered Liberty 😊 and signed up to the Beauty Drop so £10 off. I must admit it looks like a fab calendar with a varied mix of interesting products. It definitely caught my eye. I will just have to try and resist until Dec 1st!

According to something I saw on FB apparently 90,000 people are on the waitlist for the Cult Beauty one. I wonder how they decide how many to make?

@ithoughtisawapuddycat I’ve just called Space NK customer services and they are sending me the Advent22 gift as I said it was unfair that if I’d waited to buy it I could have had the offer.

Just caved and bought Liberty- it came out above CB on my spreadsheet (can’t recall why but I think there are several excellent skincare items I want to try.) Also never had Liberty.

May also get JL to open next year - I did that last year and it was ACE in a gloomy March.

Justifying it by repeatedly missing work lunch dos which come in at about £10 a time, must have passed on at least five in the last two months.

I've ordered the Liberty today. Used credits and £10 offer. I opted for Harrods last year as Liberty was too similar but pretty impressed with this one.

If Harrods is good then I may have to get another but really can't afford to splurge 😬

@Zeeza - yes I suspect thousands are on the wait list but will not buy. How on Earth do the decide how many they will sell? Especially now with so many others on the market and a massive cost of living crisis.
