Beauty advent 22 part 2 (massive spoilers)

I don't know the etiquette of starting a runover of someone else's thread. I hope this is OK.

Reminder advent22 gives a hand-wash and handcream free gift on space nk.

I bought it, but now I have alight regret. I should have held out to see what harrods had.

The CEO cream wasn't 5oz as had been trailed on many calendar sites, but 0.5oz, 15ml. 5oz would have been a ridiculous size so that makes sense.

I bin my elasticizer.

@chloechloe - nothing for elasticizer I'm afraid. I give mine away if I can.

I have started using Hyaluronic Acid (just the Ordinary one) on damp hair (brittle and coarse) with amazing results. Just a few drops rubbed through middle to ends after washing. In case anyone has any HA to use up.

PomRuns · 11/10/2022 21:28

@chloechloe great for post swim hair - use on my DD. I only leave on for a couple of minutes though, don't have time to faff around.

chloechloe · 12/10/2022 08:37

I’ll have to try that with the kids after swimming @PomRuns . I have two with curls so I could probably just leave it on without rinsing.

OverTheHillAndDownTotherSide · 12/10/2022 10:08

Any thoughts on the contents of this one? Wasn’t going to get one but may be swayed……

@OverTheHillAndDownTotherSide - I got mine (as I'm a 'pro' member of LiB I got 15% off - it's a really lovely calendar, have checked mine over and all looks good.

Have also got asos for October (so I can use anything more suitable for my daughters in their advent calendars I put together!) and want one for November. I like the feel unique / Sephora U.K. one but despite them saying you can get a free gift with purchase with it (if you make the order up to £150) it's not adding it to the order - tried with other items and does add so seems to be a calendar specific issue which is a shame cause the gwp was what swings it for me.

Maybe I'll only end up with 2 - that would be a first!

Zeeza · 12/10/2022 10:31

I think there's a lot of love out there for thr LiB advent. I think it's a really good calendar. Good range, good quality, good sizes. But there were others which had products I wanted more.

If there was a good deal I would probably buy it as well 🤣🤣🤣

@OverTheHillAndDownTotherSide I've got LiB, thought it was great value. The code STSAC125 gets £12.50 off it (although there is a delivery charge so I paid £190). I was considering not getting one this year due to cost of living, but if you'll use the stuff it's worth it.

I tried that too only to see the small print that the calendar does not go towards the beauty bag that apparently is free when you buy 'anything' over £150.🙄

MidnightMeltdown · 12/10/2022 12:03

I hate it when brands do that. Look Fantastic does it a lot. They advertise some discount code, and then you find out that it's not valid on anything that you actually want to buy. Such a time waster.

CountryCob · 12/10/2022 12:16

I like that, have repurchased the Murad exfoliating cleanser and like the jet lag and bum bum cream, Fenty nice touch. Some repeats which are not for me. Won’t get another unless get a big reduction I think though largely as I have a lot I would like to use up. Think I am not usual but still interested in what No7 might do….

MidnightMeltdown · 12/10/2022 12:44

I think LiB is good value but I preferred Cult Beauty this year.

I think it was mainly the Olaplex and the pillow mist that put me off. Also, I already have a few of the products in it.

MidnightMeltdown · 12/10/2022 12:45

Wouldn't say no to a good discount code though 😂🙈

ajandjjmum · 12/10/2022 12:49

I am just going for M & S unless there is a good discount on one of the luxury calendars. Got the John Lewis one for DD, and it looks fab.

BurningTheToast · 12/10/2022 13:03

Look Fantastic are offering 20% cashback on their advent calendar if you go via Top Cashback.

MidnightMeltdown · 12/10/2022 13:40

Cult beauty is back in stock if anyone was after that. Second drop.

AprilLady · 12/10/2022 13:42

I would probably also have gone for Feel Unique/Sephora if it qualified for the GWP. Pretty sure they have been good in the past at including pretty much everything, so this is a new (and unwelcome) Sephora development.

Agree @MidnightMeltdown on LF (and other Hut Group sights like Skinstore) that the discounts are always much more limited than advertised.

AprilLady · 12/10/2022 13:43

*sites . I can spell really😂

LaBrujaPiruja · 12/10/2022 14:05

mumsnetters with BACs spreadsheets? Is there any BAC under the £200 mark containing Sunday Riley CEO serum?

AprilLady · 12/10/2022 14:30

@LaBrujaPiruja No, but it is in this rather good gift set which is £115.

Not the serum, only the moisturiser in JL

I think the liberty one has the serum but it's 245

My Space NK arrived today. It’s enormous. Very exciting!
@chloechloe I was especially annoyed about it because I had spent so long with it in my basket, wondering if I’d buy it or not. I see they’ve at least removed it from the .ie website now.

OverTheHillAndDownTotherSide · 12/10/2022 15:47

Apart from the Olaplex, which I don’t mind, I haven’t tried any of the LIB items before.

I think I’ll go for it. :)

Zeeza · 12/10/2022 16:03

The liberty ac has under eye cream. If they had the vit c serum I would have bought it lols.
