Beauty advent 22 part 2 (massive spoilers)

I don't know the etiquette of starting a runover of someone else's thread. I hope this is OK.

Reminder advent22 gives a hand-wash and handcream free gift on space nk.

I bought it, but now I have alight regret. I should have held out to see what harrods had.

The CEO cream wasn't 5oz as had been trailed on many calendar sites, but 0.5oz, 15ml. 5oz would have been a ridiculous size so that makes sense.

@SoloCat sorry you missed it. Like last year’s advent though, it might come back in stock (or be available in store if that is an option). I have an insomnia problem - upside is I bought mine at 4:30am this morning.

I’m glad I went for Liberty now that I’ve seen the main Harrods advent contents. As there are lots of us who have, I’m looking forward to the daily opening thread in December!

Thanks @AprilLady I have managed to get one now 😁 I phoned up and ordered it direct.
I stayed up until 2am and kept checking, went to bed, overslept and missed it all 😂
I'm really sorry you have insomnia, it must be horrible…I only have it occasionally. As you say the upside is you managed to order online. 🥰

I’ve always found Liberty to be great at replacing a missing item, I’m sure they will sort it for you!

The Murad night cream in the Harrods one is great but there’s not enough other delights to tempt me which is a relief as I opted for Liberty!

I like Ren but that AHA tonic… it’s everywhere.

Not the ren tonic! It's in everything, I've bottles of the stuff!

I'm so tempted to start the liberty beauty drop next year. Not had the liberty calendar yet and if I can put money towards it each month even better

Very tempted by the LiB. It had sort of passed me by but it looks like a very good collection of products. There are a couple of duds for me (nail varnish, lip gloss) but overall a good offering. Torn between that and JL. Would have liked to see some perfume in LiB but the candle is better (IMO) and the sizes are better overall. But then JL has Votary and Lumene products that I'd like to try, plus the eyeshadow palette.

Has anyone seen Cosmetopia's recent videos? She's pointed out that an ingredient in Olaplex 3 has been banned in the EU, which might explain why we're seeing so many in UK advent calendars.

Olaplex has been reformulated and hasn't had that scent in since last year. I have a 250ml bottle left that does have it in and I am still going to use it. It is a very small amount of a not very dangerous chemical that is applied to the ends of hair, not the scalp. I am very relaxed about it.

@Zeeza I can see that, I guess I wonder if they could potentially be using this as a way to get rid of old stock since lilial isn't banned in the UK. Olaplex 3 is in a high number of calendars this year. Maybe not, and I wouldn't be too concerned either (considering it's in both the calendars I'm torn between), but if anyone wanted to be cautious it would be worth checking the ingredients.

Well my decision is made, been to JL this morning and had a mooch at some of the products in the calendar and decided I'm not too bothered about it, so CB it is!

Glad Harrods was announced too as it's meant I can rule that one out, although I'm slightly regretting not having a proper look into the fragrance calendar...

I've just found the olaplex from the space nk calendar and my reading specs.

It does not contain the perfume in the ingredients list.

Olaplex 3 is the product that put me off JL. It’s so time consuming to use and I don’t notice any improvement. They don’t sell much of it, does anyone like it?

I loooove olaplex. It has made a big difference to the health of my hair. It's a big plus to me if it's in a calendar as it is expensive and its something I do buy. Surely its something that one of your friends would like of you don't?

It gets raves - I like the hair serum (9) and oil but underwhelmed by the rest - hair not dyed though

That Harrods probably wins this years fastest selling advent. Such a great idea..soon to be copied elsewhere with really naff scents. 😊
