Anyone switched over their wardrobe yet to Autumn/Winter?

Northwest here and the weather is definitely changing. Toying with idea of switching wardrobe over tomorrow - anyone else done this yet or are you still firmly in summer camp?
just got a bit frustrated today as could have done with my knee high suede brown boots to wear with wide legged mid length trousers so got me thinking, it could be time.
Not sure if I have the energy though for the big loft switchover!

Noooo still so warm here. I'm in the north too. I'm still very much in summer clothes.

Riverlee · 09/09/2022 21:30

Not done the big switch yet, but started wearing jeans again. During the summer, I love wearing summer dresses, linen trousers etc, and try to avoid jeans. My summer wardrobe is much more varied than my winter wardrobe, whereby I seem to wear jeans all the time. I do have a few dresses, but don’t wear them nearly as much.

dudsville · 09/09/2022 21:31

I put on my home-jumper today. It's a large men's jumper so really slouchy and long sleeved. It's only 100% cotton as opposed to wool so it seems like a good transitional item!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 09/09/2022 21:34

NE Scotland here and I vacuum packed my summer dresses tonight! I’ve had opaque tights on a couple of times in the last fortnight, and jeans are back on regular rotation. I have left the heavy knits packed away for now.

I'm in South Yorkshire. It is very defintely autumn here. I have been in jeggings the last three days. It isn't warm enough for summer clothes now.

BudgieMustTryHarder · 09/09/2022 21:49

I'm in the northwest too, and I've been wearing shorts all week. I'm still roasting

Jumbojem · 09/09/2022 21:50

SW here and not yet. Been very wet but not cold which I find is the hardest weather to dress for!

LillyLeaf · 09/09/2022 21:51

I was wondering this today as I was putting washed summer dresses back into my wardrobe, seems like I should be switching them out, although it's forecast to be 24 degrees here next week. I did get absolutely drenched while out today in a tee, jeans and blazer, but did take a rain coat. I don't think I'll wear anything that's too summery now, but not ready for knitwear just yet. I love swapping my wardrobe.

ellieboolou · 09/09/2022 21:53

It's still hot and muggy here in the SE with 26 predicted for Monday, I'm waiting for it to be cool enough for cardigans and jeans

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/09/2022 21:53

Surely you just wear the right clothes for the days weather?

CaramelTwirl · 09/09/2022 21:54

I just wear the same clothes with an added cardi and boots.

It was 20 degrees and sunny here today. Also quite humid. I went out in tshirt, summer trousers and sunglasses 🕶 🌞

JaceLancs · 09/09/2022 22:06

North west too and still far too warm to consider change over
I have swapped sandals to flat shoes though
dresses gone from sleeveless to short sleeves

Gosh, are we in the same place? There was thunder and lightening today and a complete downpour at school run time. I got home shivering / maybe I’m a wuss!

Yes, that’s my point - my autumn wardrobe is up in the loft. I think it’s time to get sorted and do an Autumn (but not winter) switch over. I could have done with my boots and a jumper today to wear under my blazer.

I’m phasing it in ( am in the South East).

We had quite spectacular thunder storms and heavy rain earlier this week. Only brief though, and still warm - as in too warm to wear a proper coat! As previous poster said, difficult to dress for.

I'm coastal though, if you're in the pennines it will probably be cooler, being much high up 😁

Tulipvase · 09/09/2022 22:17

I love this time of year but find the transition of clothes quite tricky. I work in a school and can be outside quite a lot. I find it can be coolish in the mornings but by the afternoon, pretty warm! Definitely started wearing cardigans but still in low cut converse. I also walk to work so can find I get too warm for a coat which is a pain when it rains like it has recently.

onlyconnect · 09/09/2022 22:18

Not yet. It'll be warm again soon.

RampantIvy · 09/09/2022 22:20

We have had torrential rain showers and thunder today. It is the local agricultural show tomorrow and the ground will be pretty muddy after the last few days and today. It definitely wasn't warm here.

fairtrauchled · 09/09/2022 22:20

All my clothes for all seasons are in my wardrobe or drawers.I don't pack any clothes away.
I'm in Scotland and still wearing short sleeved tops indoors.Outdoors I'll take a light zip up cardigan with me in case it gets cooler.
I had a pair of jeans on today for the first time in weeks.

WalkingOnSonshine · 09/09/2022 22:23

I’ve done jeans & short sleeved T-shirts this week, haven’t worn jeans since about May.

Next week will probably be my favourite type of outfit - jumpers with shorts.

I probably won’t do the full transition over until mid October, and need to have a ruthless clear out when I do.

Phrenologistsfinger · 09/09/2022 22:26

I have started - pulled out all my summer dresses, summer tops, light summer trousers, skirts and shorts. Haven’t pulled out the warm stuff from under the bed yet but I will soon. Am in the SE and weather has turned here.

YeahThanks · 09/09/2022 23:09

I’ve packed away all the high Summer clothes, strappy dresses/tops, shorts etc but not yet pulled out all the deep Winter things.

anything that I didn’t wear this season has been boxed up and labelled. My plan is to keep it in storage next year, if I don’t find myself needing any of it I’ll charity shop it this time next year.

JMAngel1 · 10/09/2022 06:50

Ok, so I’m setting aside 2 hours this afternoon to get this done. I need to be ruthless as there have been lots of summer items I haven’t worn for years.
, I can barely picture what’s up in the loft though - hopefully there will be some nice surprises! I find wardrobe changeover dangerous for my bank balance if I no longer like last year’s A/W clothes. I have done Kibbe since then so now have “rules” - there may be a large cull 😂 Also I must take my coats to the dry cleaners - didn’t do it at the end of winter which I’m kicking myself for now.
