Anyone switched over their wardrobe yet to Autumn/Winter?

Northwest here and the weather is definitely changing. Toying with idea of switching wardrobe over tomorrow - anyone else done this yet or are you still firmly in summer camp?
just got a bit frustrated today as could have done with my knee high suede brown boots to wear with wide legged mid length trousers so got me thinking, it could be time.
Not sure if I have the energy though for the big loft switchover!

Ooh, where is the cinnamon skirt from?!

woodhill · 10/09/2022 17:14

In jeans and a crocheted short sleeve top today

woodhill · 10/09/2022 17:16

I don't usually wear Autumnal stuff until October

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/09/2022 17:21

I've started to move summer dresses onto a rail and Autumn dresses into the wardrobe, although there's some crossover. However, it's muggy and a bit drizzly here - I was far too hot in a denim jacket, midi and bare legs earlier.

I wear autumn stuff according to the temperature, not the calendar. It seems that everyone on here is enjoying better weather than we are today. I have been wearing jeans, a vest top and a thin jumper and have felt comfortable. And I'm back in socks.

woodhill · 10/09/2022 17:44

I'm in the South East and it is warm

I'm of the thinking that you spend a lot of time in Warmer clothes so hold off as long as possible

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/09/2022 19:54

I've just removed a laundry basket full of summer clothes from my wardrobe and they'll go up in the loft tomorrow . I've left a couple of dresses that I wear round the house .
Today was TShirt , jeans and light fleece weather for me , but loads of people out in shorts .

Wow, some of you must have a lot of clothes. All my clothes (summer and winter) fit in the wardrobe and chest of drawers, except coats which are in a cupboard in the hall.

Roxie99 · 10/09/2022 21:15

@Jellybean23 that's the problem I have way too many clothes....I've been sorting for a while now but it's still too much! I want a website that tells me exactly how many of each type and colour of jumper I need, trousers etc etc .
I wore jeans and socks for the first time today in a long time (SE England).

onlythreenow · 10/09/2022 21:18

Some of you must have an awful lot of clothes!!! I've never packed away clothes for a particular season in my life, I just grab whatever I want to wear from the wardrobe/drawers, and many of them are worn all year around. And I actually think I have too many clothes.

onlythreenow · 10/09/2022 21:21

@Jellybean23 - I hadn't read your post when I posted, it's almost identical! I keep my coats in the spare bedroom wardrobe.

Summergirl5 · 10/09/2022 21:22

Yep ,everything summer packed away today .
just bought long cardigan, and unpacked autumn winter clothes

Ragged · 10/09/2022 21:24

hmmm I've started wearing hoodies more. But still in shorts.

Titsywoo · 10/09/2022 21:25

No it is still too warm here in SE

AmmoniteCrystals · 10/09/2022 21:25

I wore shorts today with a t-shirt and light cardigan. I’m in south east and it was sunny this afternoon.

DeoForty · 10/09/2022 21:31

It's not so much the style of summer clothes that feels inappropriate at this time of year, but the colours. I wear a lot of cream and white tops in the summer and it just doesn't feel right once you're in September...

Chipsahoy · 10/09/2022 21:32

North east Scotland here and today has been mild. Around 19c. I wore a three quarter length sleeve, knee length dress. I’ve put a jumper over it this evening. So feel very much in the transition period of summer to autumn. I’ve worn jeans a lot this week due to rain. I don’t think it’s cold enough for opaques for me yet so be a while before they come out.

CaramelTwirl · 09/09/2022 21:54

I just wear the same clothes with an added cardi and boots.

I’m glad it’s not just me 😀

NE Scotland here and I vacuum packed my summer dresses tonight! I’ve had opaque tights on a couple of times in the last fortnight, and jeans are back on regular rotation. I have left the heavy knits packed away for now.

Wow I'm in NE Scotland too and we were at the beach, splash park etc it was glorious and hot!

No, I'm not switching just yet, will intend to do that once back from holiday beginning of October

I do have tonnes of clothes but we also moved to a house with no storage and so now Im doing what I've seen other people talk about. Packing clothes away. I hate it..im going to move!

Reallyreallyborednow · 10/09/2022 22:01

Do people actually have separate wardrobes? As in pack up all the clothes they’ve been wearing for the last few months and get a whole new lot of “winter” clothes out?

wow.

i have clothes. None I would differentiate into summer or winter at all. I just add or remove layers.

woodhill · 10/09/2022 22:02

I pack away and put stuff in spare room wardrobe and drawers

I have too much stuff

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 10/09/2022 22:02

YES because some people don't have storage for all the clothes on one place. It's incredibly annoying. !

Reallyreallyborednow · 10/09/2022 22:07

perhaps the issue then is too many clothes rather than lack of storage?
