This is the year I finally buy good boots !! Help please.

Hi, really struggle with winter clothes and footwear.
I am pale wirh red hair and i do not suit black, or brown and only a bit of grey.
As such , the colours I like dont go with black or brown footwear .each year i make an expensive boot purchase mistake.
I like style of docs , but dislike the yellow stitching and the tag on the back of ankle.
Does anyone know any doc like boots without the yellow stitching in black ( too harsh mainly but cd wear with grey ?l brown or burgandy.? I did buy green boots last year but will give to charity as are a bit odd! Thanks !

Pretty much anything will go with brown or with black, I'd have thought. Or cherry red?

The quality is usually good too.

Honestly - docs. Best boots there are and they last forever. Lots of styles and colours to choose from, they don't all have the yellow stitching, etc.

I've got three pairs of Seasalts. They're really lovely.

And don't need breaking in (have vowed to never have Docs agin for this reason!).

Watching with interest but I have wide feet!

I bought Josef Siebel Selena boots last year - very comfy. They have lots of weird designs but when you find the classics they are well made.

Dr martens do all black boots. Think they are called mono something. I went with a pair of sorel lennox lace boots though with a similar requirement to you and love them

I have what sounds like the same colouring as you OP and most of my boots are brown. I prefer tan but have dark brown as well. Imo they go with everything I wear as well my skin tone.

Black look ridiculous on me though I think.

Have a look at Pikolinos, some styles are a bit dated but the work style boots are beautiful quality and very comfortable.

Olive green blundstones? Mine seem invincible. Which is shame as I'd like new boots but these just keep going.

The above wd tone with my hair ! But they are docs. ! Not seen this shade before.
I like the sea salt ones too.

As i wear mainly jeans in winter or denim pinnies or dungarees, or green dresses i also wear multi coloured vintage type dresses, but my legs look awful in boots and as for tights no idea what to wear as black tights kill the colour in my dresses!.. i really dont know how to wear boots with them.
Maybe i am needing to change my winter w robe ?!

Range of boots in leather or suede in various cuts & colours. The Night Jar boots are my favourites, but I like some of the others & they have some DM type ones too.

Have you had a look at Grenson? They have a sale at the moment.

Camper or Wonders could be good.

Blue boots are very versatile. I agree black is boring.

I had a pair of pink Camper boots that oddly enough went with everything.

I have several pairs of Solovairs. Some have the DM style tab at the back, some don't and only one pair has stitching, and that's black. The ones I get most comments on are the Burgundy-Rub Off Jade ones from Toast. Toast only has brown or black right now, but there are lots of colour boots on the Solovair site.
I think they are better quality than DM.
I've recommended them on here so many times that they should put me on commission .
They do from size 3 to 13. The sizes are a bit confusing, but I go down a whole size.
They are not cheap and I got mine second hand. All were in pretty much in as good as new condition.

So this is what i wear in winter.
Jeans with cashmere navy bardot neck jumper.
Jeans with toast icelandic jumper.
Denim pinefore( not toast one i am too short!)
Denim dungarees , stripe top under with cashmere cropped cardis in green , blues , creams.
Grey cashmere jumper.
I tend to wear my hair
Up in a vintage style with a headscarf. Red lippy or deep pink.

I have red hair, pale skin . I am petite. Size 10. Size 4 feet.
Five foot one.
I like vintage clothes, which is why i struggle in winter as i love vintage frocks.

Mainly wear
Navy
Green ( concerned green boots will look matchy matchy ? Also as i am short i tend to look like a childrens tv presenter if i wear too many colours!)
Grey.
Pink.
Most of my dresses are green and blue.
I think also the current trend of long skirts ( cant do) and bare look legs has really confused me as those looks dont seem to go with my clothes. Maybe i shd just wear jeans ( straight levis) all winter with boots ?
Please cd anyone suggest which grensons?
I tried the toast soliviar boots .. size 4 ( the smallest size) were too wide and too long, like boats on me !.thanks all .

I would also recommend Grenson, I have two pairs and they're my favourite boots ever. I have a lace up pair of Nanettes and a slip on black leather alternative. Both so so comfy, and didn't need wearing in like I found Dr Martens did.

Grenson Nanette are lovely, I got these in the same at the first lockdown, and a ecru shearling pair last year. They took no breaking in whatsoever.
