Hi, really struggle with winter clothes and footwear.
I am pale wirh red hair and i do not suit black, or brown and only a bit of grey.
As such , the colours I like dont go with black or brown footwear .each year i make an expensive boot purchase mistake.
I like style of docs , but dislike the yellow stitching and the tag on the back of ankle.
Does anyone know any doc like boots without the yellow stitching in black ( too harsh mainly but cd wear with grey ?l brown or burgandy.? I did buy green boots last year but will give to charity as are a bit odd! Thanks !

Fly London boots. Have a look at red (lovely rich shade of burgundy) or petrol. Lovely leather and are very comfy. I bought two pairs last autumn and they’ve been worn a lot and are still in good condition. Am lusting after biker boots in petrol.

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler which grenson do you have and how do you wear please!? I fancy the tan i linked to earlier , but unsure how look with skirts.

Seasalt boots are really good, i usually try to buy mine in the sale as they are usually fairly classic style so doesn't change each year

AthenaPopodopolous · 21/08/2022 10:19

The Olive tone warm lined Toms Dakota look lovely.

Have a look at Moshulu:

www.moshulu.co.uk/womens-boots

Range of boots in leather or suede in various cuts & colours. The Night Jar boots are my favourites, but I like some of the others & they have some DM type ones too.

I was also going to suggest looking at Moshulu. More colours and styles than you could imagine and decent quality.

I feel really lucky because I got two pairs of Nightjars in black and purple in the sale early this year, for about £90 a pair, so I'm set for decent boots for a couple of years at least now.

I don't rate Fly boots. The soles are not hard wearing enough - if I spend £100+ on a pair of boots I want them to last a few years!

Yes. I have them in black, and they have a logo on the tab, but they have some 6-eye derby boots with a small plain tab.

They do collaborations with George Cox, YMC and MHL as well as Toast, and it might be worth looking at those.

Other than my beloved solovairs, I have some medium blue mid-calf pull-on boots and some navy riding style boots. They are quite versatile.

I wear dungarees and boilersuits, combat pants, midi skirts, short pinafores etc, I'm pale and my hair tends towards a reddish shade of mouse, if that helps

Givemesunshines · 24/08/2022 18:32

After hours on the internet i decided on these so far. !
Which one ??!
Left is burgandy but more purple to my eye. R is oxblood.
A red ish shade?
To go eith
Navy
Green
I have pale skin and red hair .. views much appriciated !

This is the year I finally buy good boots !! Help please.

Solovairs.

Ooops . Ox blood to left , burg to right!

KirstenBlest · 24/08/2022 18:38

Is the burgundy the high-shine burgundy rub-off? If it is, choose it.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 24/08/2022 18:44

I'm confused about which you are calling left and right.

They are both really nice, but I think the one with the laces shown up to the top will go with a larger range of colours.

Givemesunshines · 24/08/2022 18:50

I am calling the laced up one the ox blood.
The other is the burgandy.

OP posts:
MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 24/08/2022 18:51

I'd go Ox Blood, in that case, but both are really nice.

Givemesunshines · 24/08/2022 18:53

They are oxblood hi shine laced
And
Unlaced is burgwndy gracho crazy horse.

The above wd tone with my hair ! But they are docs. ! Not seen this shade before.
I like the sea salt ones too.

As i wear mainly jeans in winter or denim pinnies or dungarees, or green dresses i also wear multi coloured vintage type dresses, but my legs look awful in boots and as for tights no idea what to wear as black tights kill the colour in my dresses!.. i really dont know how to wear boots with them.
Maybe i am needing to change my winter w robe ?!
What do you wear if you are pale in winter. ? The colours like black make me look ill.

Maybe get your colours done ? It might help you know what suits you best.
Redheads usually look good in Autumn colours, olive, teal, mustard, rust etc.
I am not a redhead but I also suit these colours, I don’t look good in black. I do sometimes wear black tights and shoes with multicoloured print dresses though. What matters most is the colour closest to the face.

KirstenBlest · 24/08/2022 19:06

I thought they might be.
The high shine ones will require less maintenance.

Givemesunshines · 24/08/2022 19:08

Would you say the hi shine rub off are less purple ( burgandy hi.shine rub off) ?? These are certainly purple not burg!!

OP posts:
KirstenBlest · 24/08/2022 19:19

More sort of chestnutty, the colours that rub off change colour. The pic is of the Astronaut boot. The ones I have were from toast so have a small plain tab and the top holes are like granny boot ones. I get loads of compliments on them

This is the year I finally buy good boots !! Help please.
KirstenBlest · 24/08/2022 19:22

These are a bit like the DM church boots and they are gorgeous
monkey boots

Givemesunshines · 24/08/2022 19:32

I actually bought amd loved those toast boots ! Ace! But returned as just too big and toast did not have a smaller size ! I am.size 4 and just domt do 3.s.
I may order the rub offs now as.i do.recal they.were less purple than the ones sent in pic.
Do they change colour as they age and if so in which direction shade wise please?
Enjoy yr boots !!!

This thread alerted me to the grenson sale, thank you! I have solovair and love them. I have DMs, the soft ones, but don't like them as much, they feel loose and clunky. Just bought greson monkey boots. Can't wait!
