Beauty Advent Calendars *spoiler alert - contents discussed within thread*

Is it too soon for a thread on these? I remember last year they were all coming out or going on sale in September so not too far off.

I got the spacenk one last year and it was first ever beauty advent calendar and I loved it. Still using some of the products and have gone to purchase at least five items in full size, two of them multiple times.

This year I'll get the spacenk one again but might also go for the cult beauty as well.

Thank you for the reassurance about H&B @AprilLady I was thinking of purchasing it as a jadvent ... still not sure at all about 'main' advent - initially was enthusiastic for Harvey nicks but now not sure. Might just go foodie with degusta and brew dog!

@ajandjjmum M&S is usually available late October or very early November. I think I saw a release date of 27 Oct on one of the blogs.

There is a link to a discount on the elle advent on really ree to bring it down to £140 if you pre order. There is also a £10 offer on my Amex rewards, bringing it down to 130.

I’m fuming. Contacted Liberty about shipping abroad and then they eliminated several countries, one of them Spain, from the countries they will ship to. Have now contacted Space NK and they say they still don’t know whether they will ship to several European countries. Isn’t it being launched on Friday? What are they playing at?

I reckon it's 50/50 whether they will launch before the funeral.

We're very close to some of the calendars launching and I'm stuck. I am trying to decide between spacenk or cult beauty.

I had the spacenk one last year and loved it but there seems a lot of hair care in cult beauty and I'm not interested in hair care (apart from JVN which is in the spacenk).

Thoughts?

I have had a look at the unboxing and have been lurking on the thread but now I have watched them I am thinking latest in beauty x Sunday times is the one I am going to go for was going to get either liberty (using beauty drop credit) or cult beauty, I wish John Lewis would release contents though

I'm not keen on the number of hair products either. However, I think the number of items in CB vs Space NK means that you can discount the hair products. CB has 37 items whereas SPACE NK only has 30. There are 8 hair items in CB and 3 in SPACE NK.

I so wanted to love space nk and had such high hopes for it as I really loved it last year but I just don’t think I like it this year. Cult def isn’t for me waiting on Harrods and JL. X

The space nk feels more luxurious to me somehow. Don't know why. And I suspect there will be some sort of offer within a couple of weeks.

I normally buy the Fenwick calendar, but they've jacked the price up by roughly £50 so it's now just under £200. Too much. I'm out. sob

About £50 more than it cost last year. Very depressing.

I think that the 12 day ones are supposed to be for the 12 days of Christmas, so you definitely need another one for the lead up to Christmas

I might do that. I've resisted until now as I don't often buy from Liberty - and now here I am eyeing up the advent calendar 🙄

Fenwick usually do a rather nice looking food advent. Last years looked great. I didn't get it but I might this year

I've been a busy bee today - got the £55 L'Occitane one and also (and I am VERY excited about this one) House of Fraser one. It was £125 and unlike that brilliant thread from a couple years ago about the rubbish calendar, no drawers of doom!
It has a great mix of high end skincare and some stuff I'm looking forward to trying.

Thanks @MidnightMeltdown - I wanted to get this last year but dithered a bit and it sold out, so disappointed!! So may well go for it this year - it looks so good.

@MidnightMeltdown thank you for sharing the Fenwick's food calendar - I really want the F&M one but after buying their beauty calendar it feels a bit much to buy their food calendar too but the Fenwick's one is a lower price point so might give that a go once the full contents are released.

The L'Occitane one looks so cute! And a more affordable option. Tempted!

I dithered too last year, and was then disappointed when it sold out! To be fair, I had already spent far too much on beauty calendars so I couldn't justify it.

I will consider getting it this year

I think that the calendar looks really good though. I like that it's skincare heavy.

I know its not beauty but just ordered Degustabox which I really enjoyed last year. Early bird offer brings it down to £35.99.
