Your comfiest sandals/flip flops?

I need new flat sandals for summer. My old faithfuls have given up the ghost and I can't even remember where I got them from. So I need some new ones.

I'd like something that can go with jeans or dresses but they must be comfy! I'm going to London with my Mum in a couple of weeks, ideally I need to get something this week so I can wear them in a bit before we go!

Budget of around £50 ish. Can anyone recommend some because I don't even know where to start!

Teva. I"ve got three pairs in different colours! I like Terra Fi model - they all fit slightly differently I've got wide squarish feet - the originals don't fit so well.

If you want something a little smarter .... I also ordered some fit flops recently - the Gracie sandal was really comfy to try but I eventually kept the air and grace Lena I'd ordered as well (these are fab but a bit pricier).

I also have multiple pairs of mephisto Helen slides which have a birkenstock style sole. I find them comfy but not if I have to walk really long distances - so OK to go to work but not for a city break - as they don't have an ankle strap. Moshulu used to do a cheaper version of these which was OK but didn't have all the padding in the sole the mephisto ones have.

I've walked 60 miles this week in a pair of Karrimor Tuvalu walking sandals. Maybe not the latest fashion but SOOOO comfortable. Sports Direct have them reduced at £26. Bargain!

i am super sensitive to shoes, and no joke, my best sandals these year are £5 from primark. www.primark.com/en-gb/p/eva-flat-sandals-991031056002
I have them in pink and white and they feel like im walking on clouds. More comfy than my birkenstocks

Newestname002 · 21/06/2022 17:04

Crocs Literide. They have a closer fitting profile than the regular crocs and extremely comfortable. 🌹

Shellingbynight · 21/06/2022 17:36

I find Tevas very comfortable, I have a couple of pairs including midform universal, and I also have a pair of very comfortable Moshulu sandals. I could walk any distance in them. Whereas I find Birkenstocks excruciatingly uncomfortable.

Good luck finding something that's right for you OP.

Anyone here with bunions who could tell me how Tevas feel - do the straps rub?
In theory some the straps on some designs could rub that area, depends on the style. Some, like the universal, have adjustable straps so you might be able to adjust your way out of it anyway, you'd have to try them on to see.

How do Moshulus come up size-wise? I see their smallest size is a 4 but I’m normally a 3.5.

DragonflyNettle33 · 21/06/2022 18:06

Fitflops- have many styles of their sandals and all are so comfortable!

SBAM · 21/06/2022 18:26

www.shoezone.com/Products/Hush-Puppies-Elena-Womens-Tan-Sandal-199301 I got these recently, they’ve been super comfortable from day 1, unlike my clarks Henderson luck sandals which everyone else seems to love but they rub my ankles raw within minutes.

I'm a 5 and the 5 is just right for me, so I'd say true to size.

Archie’s flip flops are hands down (or should that be feet?) the best flip flops ever!
I live in mine, bought my oh some and he loves them

im considering buying more colours

Absolutely Archies.

As @Notnastypasty mentioned great for people with problematic feet (and those without).

Should note my first pair I did have to break myself. (Same as Birkenstocks but not as long for Archies in my experience.) Second pair (different colour) wasn't an issue.

Love them!!

I've just ordered some Croc flops

Teva, by a country mile.

Which Teva are particularly good for PF please?

MustBeThursday · 21/06/2022 21:24

I have some Skechers meditation yoga foam sandals which are very comfy, I've also recently bought these which are surprisingly comfy too www.newlook.com/uk/womens/footwear/shoes/wide-fit-gold-twist-strap-chunky-sandals/p/814073393

MissStarry · 21/06/2022 21:30

Fit flops - amazing. Also own 2 pairs of Birkenstock’s - one pair comfy but not as comfy as fit flop, recently got some Arizona with chunky buckle and they rub especially when driving and sometimes create a farting noise 😫

downtonupton · 21/06/2022 23:23

I have PF and wide feet - I am the kind of person who were sandals from March to October and I hate socks and shoes...

I generally wear Birkenstocks or Art Company www.the-art-company.com/uk/en/women/sandals

I think it really is trail and error - gait, foot shape, foot size, body weight, ankle size etc all affect what you feel to be comfortable.

I love Birkenstocks - can put them on new and wear them all day with no blisters - but I can't wear thong style sandals of any kind as they kind of flip out sideways and I end up with half my heel on the floor. I used to wear Madrid one strap ones but I have just sold them all as realised I was only wearing Arizona and my lovely new Kyoto ones. I have Boston closed toe ones for when it is colder weather and I also have their felt slippers that I have worn almost constantly since lockdown started.

I tried some Fit Flop mules and they hurt me, I have tried imitation Birkentocks and they werent the same (although I have a nice pair of cushioned White Stuff ones that look like Arizona ones that are comfy).

I have some Art Company ones but tend to wear them for events and keep them less lived in - they're a bit smarter.

Fly London sandals are comfortable too

I also have a pair of Keen walking sandals that are comfortable and I use in colder or wetter weather as they're a bit warmer and can handle water.

I haven't found anything else i can wear for more than a day or so - I try and take recommendations from places like here and end up selling them on eBay,

Notarealmum · 22/06/2022 08:57

Thanks for your reply @Shellingbynight

mimiasovitch · 22/06/2022 09:07

I need a strap with my walking all day type sandals. I've had several pairs of these - for play and working in a busy restaurant, so I can vouch wholeheartedly for their comfort.

I love my Heavenly Feet mules. They have great arch support.

After looking up the name of mine to share here. I spotted a turquoise pair & have ordered myself another pair too Blush

Which Teva are particularly good for PF please?

I'm not sure there is a definitive answer, the footbeds vary on each style so you'd have to try and see which felt best for you. I had some foot pain which has been 'cured' by the Teva Universals so you could try those. I tried the Tirras but the foodbed didn't feel right so I returned them - but I'm sure they are right for others.

I bought mine from Amazon so returns were free/easy.

I spent years trying to find comfy sandals to replace a perfect pair. Ended up with Seasalt which I would never have considered. I have 3 pairs now. They come up big on me.

I was underwhelmed. Theyre a bit better than ordinary flipflops because of the arch support i guess
