Where are women getting these lovely long dresses from?

I keep seeing women in lovely long dresses with short sleeves. I'm only short, 5ft 1 and I can't find any anywhere.
Where should I be looking?

As you're short my long dresses would drag on the floor, look at places like Next or ASOS that do petite ranges

cheeseisthebest · 11/06/2022 16:16

Thank you have looked at both of those and can't see anything nice!

Popsy do petite ranges and they will alter them to your size for a perfect length.

cheeseisthebest · 11/06/2022 16:19

Thank you can't see anything on popsy either.

Want something that isn't too bright or overly patterned.

I am 5’1” and have quite a collection of long skirts and dresses. My trick is to go for midi length in main range rather than look for petite, they then tend to land just above my ankle.
I mostly buy from Oliver Bonas, Anthropologie, Hush, Zara, Whistles.
I love every single one!

BigWoollyJumpers · 11/06/2022 16:25

My short DD's get them altered - so anywhere really!

OperationRinka · 11/06/2022 16:27

There are a zillion at M&S (mostly from other brands). Midi should be good for you at your height.

If anyone could post links to any dresses thst would be great thank you!

In The Style do some lovely dresses and nearly everything comes in petite too Smile

bruffin · 11/06/2022 16:29

I got some from la redoute but had to have one taken up

cheeseisthebest · 11/06/2022 16:37

Hi I'm 5'2 I got a few nice dresses from new look last weekend, not somewhere I normally shop but went in with my teenage daughter and got carried away! They weren't too long either which I can have trouble with!

BashfulClam · 11/06/2022 16:57

Dorothy Perkins online. I buy the talk range but they have petite/short ranges too.

ILoveAllRainbowsx · 11/06/2022 17:01

Do a google search on Full Maxi Dress in Floral Print

Heidipi · 11/06/2022 17:54

I’m 5’3 and just got this one from Monki, I love it. It’s oversized - I’m usually a standard 12 and got it in extra small to avoid being swamped by it! I’m not keen on the other prints but might get it in the black too. It’s longer than midi on me but nowhere near trailing on the floor - just what I was after .

Look at Nobody’s Child - stocked at M&S

I cost me £15 to have taken up, it touched the floor!

cheeseisthebest · 12/06/2022 07:20

Thank you. I'm still looking, still can't find anything!!

Seasalt do a petite range - I'm 5ft 2 and they fit perfectly

Mount2Climb · 12/06/2022 07:59

Seasalt has short sleeved linen dresses that are midis but may be maxis at your height.

Benjispruce4 · 12/06/2022 08:02

Just Google OP. It’s hard for strangers to know your taste. Try searching Midi, shirt dresses, wrapover dresses etc.

YetAnotherNam · 12/06/2022 08:04

Like others have said, having them altered could be the solution for you.

eveb the ones that have layers, I had a skirt like that, had the bottom layer taken off and it still looks lovely.

what is your budget?

Wyse and Lexy London have beautiful dresses.

Much cheaper, Petal and Pup, they’re an Australian company and it takes a bit longer to get delivered, but lovely dresses.

justasking111 · 12/06/2022 08:05

Roman originals have some. As others said shorten them
