Where are women getting these lovely long dresses from?

I keep seeing women in lovely long dresses with short sleeves. I'm only short, 5ft 1 and I can't find any anywhere.
Where should I be looking?

Marks and spencers have some ghost is stocked by them too.. boden next

Mine are all shein but around 50% of what I order is made for a giant. Some of them are like wedding trains. Offsets the cheap prices.

I have a couple of gorgeous but blow the budget ones from Wyse and Me&Em. But on a more reasonable level I’d look at M&S, Ghost and Boden. I’m 5’ 2

I’m petite and this is a perfect maxi dress on me. I’m a 10-12 and the size small was great.

I am five feet one and have loads of these dresses, all midi dresses from Next. Last year I had similar dresses from H&M. I prefer the longer dresses now.

Lots of petite people here are wearing midi dresses but don't you find that the waist sits in the wrong place? I'm 5'0 and if I wear a normal midi dress, the waist of the dress sits on my hips and looks awful. Or maybe you have all got long torsos and short legs?

I've got a gorgeous dress that I was going to have taken up but looking at the price list of the local tailors it's going to cost £25!

I love Whistles dresses. Not cheap but their sales are good.

lots of my dresses seem to have quite a high waist sort of under the bust so they fit really nicely.

Im 5ft 1

Go midi from Next. Shein midis are maxi on me

i never buy petite as they can be too short

I don’t understand these posters either. I am 5’2” with long legs. “Normal/main” range midi dresses look ridiculous on me. The short dresses in the main range look weird on me too. That’s why I always have to buy clothes in the petite range, especially as I’m thin too.

Does anyone have suggestions for summery petite dresses that are actually midi (not ankle length)?

Pastaa · 16/06/2022 15:49

I'm 5ft 2 with huge boobs, short torso and relatively long legs (I promise I look alright) I find waists sit right on me because so much of the fabric is taken up by my bust so it raises the waist to my natural waist.
I think a lot of people just can't get over the length on midis. For years it's been drummed into us shorties as a length to avoid... I just think fuck it.
I remember skinnies and mom jeans were also a weird one until we got used to seeing our bodies and others in them. Some still hate that look but you can adjust to liking it.

bruffin · 16/06/2022 19:39

Im 5'2 but have a long body and short legs, so waist is fine on me.
