Hi there
I've been on Dermatica for a month and wonder if anyone else newly on it would like somewhere to discuss / share their journey ?
My prescription is :

Month 1: Tretinoin 0.015% / Niacinamide 4%
Month 2: Tretinoin 0.025% / Niacinamide 4%
Month 3: Tretinoin 0.05% / Niacinamide 4%
Months 4+: Tretinoin 0.05% / Niacinamide 4% years

If anyone is out there , how are you getting on ?

My skin is feeling much softer but as I've also really upped my regime that has probably helped lot as as well.
And of course the religious adding of sunscreen , which I've never done before.

@usernotfound0000 yup - I got an email. I think it was after 3 full months of using Dermatica (so about 4 months after signing up)

Hi all, can I join you. I've just signed up for this for melasma that keeps getting worse on my forehead.

I'm starting on Fluocinolone Acetonide 0.01%, Tretinonin 0.025% and hydrquinone 4%

Really hoping it clears up the melasma. I see tret reduces wrinkles too, so that would be a nice extra for the crows feet.

I have been really happy with Dermatica it has made such a difference to both mine and my son's skin. I have had an offer to try skin+me and get a free cleanser and moisturizer so I have just received my prescription. Has anyone tried both and what has been your preference? Only used it a few times but I really liked the cleanser so far

I've used both and prefer Dermatica.

Skin and Me is a measured dose which is more product than I would usually use with Dermatica so the bottle is used up quicker, it's more expensive plus it's 12ml whereas Dermatica is 15ml.

The formula on both are very similar so don't have a preference

I’ve done about a month now and am having a mixed time. I think I’m getting fewer spots but the ones I get are massive and as a PP said, they get flaky and then the skin breaks down so I end up with very sore red patches. I also feel like whereas it used to be one hormonal outbreak a month, I am getting some large spots every week at the moment. I have been using the cream (which is tret, niac, and azaelic acid) every other night to try and moderate due to the soreness and peeling. I did have a week break for a sunny holiday (didn’t want to risk burning my face) so progress probably slower due to that. Going to start mixing my own adapalene in to see if that helps! It will be interesting to see if they change anything at 3 month review. The bits of my skin without spots look pretty good though and I have noticed a difference in forehead lines.

Well I started Friday night, so have used it for 3 nights so far. I have had no adverse reaction to it so far. Although mine has an extra steroid ingredient as I can have sensitive skin. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes over the next few weeks.

May I join? I've literally just got my prescription and feeling very excited!

Month 1: Tretinoin 0.025% / Hydroquinone 4% cream
Month 2: Tretinoin 0.05% / Hydroquinone 4% cream
Month 3: Tretinoin 0.05% / Hydroquinone 4% cream
Month 4: Tretinoin 0.05% / Hydroquinone 4% cream
Months 5+: Tretinoin 0.05% / Niacinamide 4% / Azelaic Acid 4%

The hydroquinone is interesting as I don't have much pigmentation on my face (just some age spots on my upper chest, maybe I wrote that on my original questionnaire - I'm not sure.)

Those of you who had hydroquinone, do you know why?

I had a reaction to the formula they switched me to about 3 months ago. Came out in perioral dermatitis about 2 weeks after starting it. I persevered. It got worse. Contacted Dematica and they wouldn’t admit that it was to do with the treatment but told me to stop using it, to see my GP and cancelled my subscription! Not particularly impressed…
