Hi there
I've been on Dermatica for a month and wonder if anyone else newly on it would like somewhere to discuss / share their journey ?
My prescription is :

Month 1: Tretinoin 0.015% / Niacinamide 4%
Month 2: Tretinoin 0.025% / Niacinamide 4%
Month 3: Tretinoin 0.05% / Niacinamide 4%
Months 4+: Tretinoin 0.05% / Niacinamide 4% years

If anyone is out there , how are you getting on ?

My skin is feeling much softer but as I've also really upped my regime that has probably helped lot as as well.
And of course the religious adding of sunscreen , which I've never done before.

Hi, how much dry skin is normal when first using Dermatica for anti aging.
I'm willing to see it through if it gets better but im not sure if my skin is reacting or if this is just my skin getting used to a retanoid

I have been using my Dermatica cream for 6 weeks now.
my prescription is Niacinamide, invermectin and metrodonizole for rosacea.

it doesn’t seem to have done much for the redness on my face but has made my skin less dry and softer so I’ve carried on. Not sure whether to cancel or not as I want to try tretinoin for anti aging but not sure how I change the prescription.

So I've only been on it just over a month , but something has struck me as I've put on my evenings Tret treatment.
So far I've always pumped it out on the back of one hand before dotting on my face.
I assume it will also be a benefit to the hand it goes on !
So tonight it went on the other hand. Here's hoping .😀

I've been using dermatica for a couple of years. It totally cleared my (peri) acne and now is a low dose preventative for acne with some anti-ageing.

I started on it in January for rosacea, my prescription is Ivermectin 1%, Metronidazole 0.75% and Niacinamide 4%. My skin has never looked and felt so good.
I did originally sign up for anti aging but they responded and said I needed the rosacea treatment.

@Adelais you can contact them and request to try the tret. Send an email and say you have heard good things about tret for anti-aging and wondered if there was any way of having it incorporated into your formula.

@Jobseeker19 how long have you been using for? What is in your formula? If it is tretinoin, it may be that your skin isn’t tolerating it too well and you need to take it very slowly. What percentages are the ingredients in your formula? Is it sore on your face, or just dry? I have some suggestions, but will depend on what you’re using!

Are Dermatica really putting people on 0.1% after 3 months? And saying to apply it every night? How are your faces not falling off?!

Report
doadeer · 15/05/2022 22:30

I went to 0.1 after about 5 months but I asked for that as I'd had no dryness or adverse effects on the two lower dosages.

Report
Twoweeksandcounting · 16/05/2022 07:30

Mine was 0.1% after 8 or 9 months, I also asked as my face was fine on the lower doses. I took the transition a little easy, as I did get a bit of stinging and redness with the increase, but it settled down.

Tretinoin 0.015% / Niacinamide 4% lotion

It can get sore and then I lay off it for 2 days. Its a bit better today. But I have used an intensive lotion on my face that's not too thick for day time.

I'm due to use it tonight as I have been trying to do every other day.

I would maybe use it every 3 days for a couple of weeks, then increase to every 2 days, until you can comfortably use it every day. When I damaged my skin at the start of using a high percentage, I stopped completely for a few days, and used a cream called Cicalfate by Avene. La Roche Posay do a similar cream called Cicaplast Baume. It really helps repair damaged skin. Put a really good layer on before bed and within a couple of days it feels so much better.

The other thing you could try is either buffering the Dermatica cream by applying moisturiser first, then using your Dermatica over the top, so it’s not going directly onto fresh skin. You can finish with another bit of moisturiser.

I also found that certain cleansers and moisturisers really stung my skin after I started with tret, and in turn made it feel sore and sensitive. so have had to play around until I found products that didn’t sting.

@mogtheexcellent I didn't find it too bad as my chin area was very bumpy. My skin is so clear now and no congestion.
How long have you been using it?

Report
mogtheexcellent · 17/05/2022 08:26

@Isabelle70

only 6 days.

My rosacea was only colour not pustules as well. Annoying as i have to go into office today and skin is worse than its ever been ans so bumpy all over. Also woken up to very dry flaky patches. Have run out of citaplast baume so have lathered on aqueous cream.

I'll give it more time but not sure how much longer i can take.

@mogtheexcellent mine took a few weeks, I would keep going with it. I find it strange looking in the mirror now and not seeing the redness. There is a Dermatica Community Facebook group which they post on.

I signed up recently and started on Sunday using a cream for rosacea. I initially did the questions based on acne but when I sent my photos they suggested that I completed the rosacea consultation and seem to think I have it, it does seem to make sense now when I've looked it up! I can't say I've noticed any difference yet, those being treated for rosacea how long before you noticed a difference?

@usernotfound0000 I originally signed up for anti aging and they said I needed the rosacea treatment. Which after some reading up it makes sense and I am a type 2 as I get the pustules with the redness.
It took a few weeks to start working and 3 months down the line my skin has never looked so good.
I have a referral code if anyone is thinking of starting, thanks in advance if you do click.

@Isabelle70 thanks, I'll stick with it. I just have the redness but I also suffer with blepharitis which I never realised was linked.

I'm three weeks in. I had to start taking breaks as my face was peeling a lot, red blotches and looked awful.

I swapped moisturiser to cerave and it has helped a lot with the flaking.

I also stopped using The Ordinary spf since it was making the flaking worse too. La Roche Posay one is a lot lighter and doesn't affect the dry patches.

Actually, my skin is at last starting to look a lot better today!

I've just ordered Anthelios UVMune 400 Invisible Fluid SPF50+ Sun Cream , and the B5 baume cleanser to see how I get on with it .
So far I've tried Neutragena , Bondi Sands , and Beauty Pie sunscreens , still trying to find the one !
Being on Tret is expensive due to wanting to find the holy grail of skin regimes that suits my skin.

@MayBeee please do try either Mermaid Skin Gel UV by Canmake, or Biore Watery Essence UV gel, serious game changers for me!
