Anyone had a lip enhancement? Yes or No? Photo included :-)

I've been thinking of having my lips done for months. My beauty therapist has said 0.5 mil if I do decide to go for it.

Anyone had there's done? Love it or regret it?

Would it be a waste of money for me? I can possibly get it done on Saturday but I really don't know!

Personally I think lip fillers look pretty awful, because they don’t make your lips look more plump, they just turn up the top edge of them which gives that telltale look

there have been loads of threads on it over the years where people post their “no one can tell I’ve had it done” pics and they are universally all bad and it’s obvious they have had them done

your top lip looks nice and plump. Leave them alone, they look good as they are

Zippidy123 · 05/05/2022 15:32

Absolutely 100% no. You have beautiful lips, leave them alone. I'm actually sad that you think you need it!

WeDontShutUpAboutBruno · 05/05/2022 15:32

I don't have lip fillers, but I know someone who did, she had a thin top lip, she was very insecure about it, and just had that done. She started with 0.5 and now, probably 3 years later she feels it isn't enough and keeps going back for bigger quantities and in both the top and bottom lips. It started out helping her so much with her confidence, but now it's completely the opposite.

In all honesty I don't think you need them, your lips are already lovely and full. If you aren't happy then I would start trying different makeup techniques and plumping gloss etc, but I honestly don't think you need to.

MakingNBaking · 05/05/2022 15:34

Gosh no, you do not need it. At all. Save the money and spend it on lipstick to show off your beautiful lips. (Jealous much - moi?)

Neveranynamesleft · 05/05/2022 15:43

Why have you been thinking of having them 'done' ? What do you think is actually so wrong with your lips ?

Your body, your choice and all that but personally I think lips that have been done look ridiculous. Can always tell when they've been pumped full of whatever it is they stuff in there.

Aniita · 05/05/2022 15:45

You have full, plump, even top and bottom lips. Why would you?

RosieCockle · 05/05/2022 15:46

You don't even have thin lips! Don't go for the ducky beak. They look tacky and cheap. The rest of your face could be lovely but it's all someone can focus on and wonder "why?"

Pruneaux · 05/05/2022 15:59

They look lovely now

Zilla1 · 05/05/2022 16:08

IME 100% of the time it is obvious and never an improvement but for you, you have no need at all. I'd be happier if this was an attempt to get compliments rather than what I suspect which is you having a dissonance about your appearance.

Good luck.

RedPandaFluff · 05/05/2022 16:12

What?! No! You have beautiful full lips already, you absolutely shouldn't (in my opinion and for what that's worth Grin)

I reckon all you need is to line them nicely and some gloss and they'd look fantastic. I'm envious!

RedPandaFluff · 05/05/2022 16:12

(Oh and I'm all for enhancements and treatments! Not against them at all.)

doadeer · 05/05/2022 16:15

You have full lips and a really distinctive shape, if you get fillers you will lose that. I don't know why you would 🤷‍♀️ but your body.

Imissmoominmama · 05/05/2022 16:15

Every time I see someone with enhanced lips, I wonder why…

You definitely don’t need it doing, OP- just treat yourself to some nice lipstick if you’re bored with them!!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 05/05/2022 16:17

Totally agree, absolutely not, you have beautiful full lips already.

Ginandcrispsarebliss · 05/05/2022 16:20

No way. You have beautiful lips.

JamSandwich89 · 05/05/2022 16:21

Each to their own, but I've never seen anyone with it done and thought it looks nice. Their top lips always look weird and hard. Naturally big lips move! Lip fillers always seem to make weird static blob lips. 😬

Bagelsandbrie · 05/05/2022 16:24

You could get the same effect with a really good nude / beige lipliner and a nude lipstick like Mac Crème de nude. I wouldn’t risk getting anything permanent done.

RampantIvy · 05/05/2022 16:25

If those are your lips now, then of course you don't need fillers. You will just look ridiculous if you do.

SirChenjins · 05/05/2022 16:26

Good grief - don't do it! Your lips are beautiful, there's no need to do anything to them. Fillers just give you a tell-tale turn up with a pumped up area under your nose - your mouth looks much nicer.

Hopefully your beautician has told you the same?

luciatrope · 05/05/2022 16:29

Why do you feel the need to do this to yourself? Men aren't injecting chemicals into their lips so why even contemplate it?

Gunpowder · 05/05/2022 16:29

No!

Smidgy · 05/05/2022 16:34

Your lips are a lovely size and shape, and don't need improving. You will wreck them by getting fillers.

I used to want lip fillers as I thought my top lip was too thin, However, I know quite a few people who have had lip fillers and after realising that not a single one of those people looked better from having lip fillers, and in most cases their lips looked worse, I decided against it. Without fail, all of their lips ended up looking shapeless and blobby. I've never seen a good lip job on anyone except a few celebrities.

LethargeMarg · 05/05/2022 16:34

I actually thought your photo was an'after' photo as you have nice full lips already . I really wouldn't add to it as your lips are what I'd probably ask for if I was to get my (very thin) lips done

fortysomething8 · 05/05/2022 16:51

Wow thank you! So many nice comments!

I left my husband 6 months ago and I've just been all about change, making myself feel good. I haven't had any cosmetic work done apart from my eyebrows tattooed but these were really needed as my natural eyebrows were awful - like weird shaped caterpillars!

I have new tattoos, piercings.

I didn't even go to the hairdressers for the whole 6 years of my marriage. I didn't do anything for myself so I suppose I'm just making up for lost time!

I'll take this as a no don't do it though! I've had one beautician say no to me but my usual one said yes when I enquired about it.

I have fillers in my lips and would absolutely say that you don't need to have anything done.

I have about .75ml and they don't end up looking even as full as yours.
