Anyone had a lip enhancement? Yes or No? Photo included :-)

I've been thinking of having my lips done for months. My beauty therapist has said 0.5 mil if I do decide to go for it.

Anyone had there's done? Love it or regret it?

Would it be a waste of money for me? I can possibly get it done on Saturday but I really don't know!

No one's been brave enough to post their actual lips with fillers, so Here's mine - I had 0.5ml almost a year ago. Personally I love them but appreciate others may think differently

Op yours are fab as others have said - but if you do take the plunge please go to either a trained nurse, doctor or dentist. NOT a beautician x

There’s lots of misinformation on this thread.

If the lip is turned up under the nose they have been overdone (unless you want that look)

I’ve never seen anyone with fillers that looks good you mean you only notice people who have obviously over-filled lips. You don’t notice all the people that have just had a small plump up.

lips with filler look hard and don’t move Filler uses Hyaluronic acid so it’s just more of what is in your lips already. That’s why it eventually dissolves.

I have a very thin top lip and had fillers. Not even my mum noticed organically but they look much better and I feel better. So less judgement needed on this thread.

i don’t think you need fillers Op as your lips are very plump

I agree. These lip filler posts always end up with people seriously convinced that they always know when someone has had fillers. What are they? Soothsayers? Honestly, the lunacy of thinking you can always know. You only know when you know. You won't know when they are done well enough. It's the Dunning-Kruger effect. People overestimate what they know. The dumber the person, the greater they overestimate as they are too dumb to know what they don't know

fortysomething8 · 05/05/2022 20:40

I have seen some people with fillers and they look really lovely. Never in a million years was I aiming for the duck lips look but just something very subtle.

But from the general consensus on here - I won't be having it done. Thank you all!

I have to say I almost always know. I worked for a year in a Botox /filler clinic and used to guess the work people had had done then check their files. Lips and cheeks were almost 100%right. Botox harder about 70%. It was a fucking boring job 😁

mayaknew · 05/05/2022 20:49

I've had mines done. I'll charge my phone then post pics.

I got 1ml in in December and I've just booked to get another 0.5ml in a few weeks. Then I'll be done. I had thought about it for years but thought I couldn't afford it. DH paid for it for my Christmas . I am over the moon with them I'm so glad I got them done.

I said I can tell, and I’m certainly not dumb. It’s absolutely fine to have different opinions you know.

I think Botox done well you can never tell, but lip fillers you can. As predicted, the pictures that PP posted saying you can’t tell… you can. It’s the telltale turned up lip ridge. The second ones look better than her original lips but still obvious that they’ve been filled!

Zippidy123 · 05/05/2022 21:31

You can definitely always tell when someone you know has lip filler. Peoples lips don't grow overnight.

I was walking with a friend once and we bumped into her friend who I'd never met before. I thought she'd had her lips done. When we parted I asked my friend if she had. She was amazed that I could tell, they both thought it was really subtle and no one would know. It was obvious to me.

Gilesgoesformiles · 05/05/2022 21:51

@Zippidy123 read above. You only know when you know. It’s not that hard a concept 🤣

@FrecklesMalone I’d guess working in a filler clinic then the majority of people would have fillers….doesn’t take a genius! 🤔

Zippidy123 · 05/05/2022 22:14

Gilesgoesformiles you can laugh but you do know! If you've spent years looking at a friend or relatives face and then they turn up one day with bigger lips then of course you know and if you don't know then what's the point in even having them done-why spend £££ if your lips look exactly the same!

SharonWattsCrispyExtensions · 05/05/2022 22:14

It shows how much the lip filler trend has grown when people with very full lips, like the OP, are contemplating having their lips plumped!

JanePrentiss · 05/05/2022 22:25

Oh op please don't do it, your lips are a fab shape, they look amazing and are the shape people who have fillers would love to have!!

To be honest I'm cross at the beautician who offered to provide fillers.. Anyone worth their salt would point out you look fab and don't need fillers... Talk about being in it for the money if she was recommending filler to you!

If you are at a point you can invest more time and energy into self care I'd say tjink about facials as a treat, pamper your skin so you glow naturally, a good hair cut and if you colour your hair a good colour as a trwat as your hair is your crown you wear everyday, pedicures or manicures... Basically titivate your natural beauty ❤️

More to the point I always knew who didn't have them! I don't know why people are upset that it's obvious. Surely it would be worse if you had them done and no one could tell the difference.

Exactly. I have seen threads about lip filler where people have posted a photo of their lips and others have said immediately "You can TOTALLY tell you've had lip fillers due to the shape of your top lip!" then it turns out the poster hasnt had it done so this idea you can "always tell" is just nonsense. Are there obvious lip fillers- of course, are there people who have had it done that you have no idea- most definitely. The whole idea about good cosmetic work is that you cannot tell its been done because its so subtle that it just makes the person appear better but you cant put your finger on why.

That said, OP- you have beautiful full lips and in your case I dont think you need them.

SirChenjins · 06/05/2022 08:47

It's very hard to tell from photos - but in the vast majority of cases it's perfectly possible to tell when someone's had their lips filled as you see them against the whole face from different angles (esp if you know them, obvs). If you want to fill your lips and you're one of the small minority who avoids that pumped up look then great, it's your face to do what you will with it.

The OP definitely doesn't need anything and should probably get a different beautician.

Louise0701 · 06/05/2022 08:49

I don’t think you need them, you have lovely full lips already!

my daughter has naturally very full lips and she has the turn up at the top so I think when she’s older people will assume she’s had filler.

RantyAunty · 06/05/2022 08:57

Your lips are perfect.
If you're wanting to get something, get a facial and a very light peel. I feel so refreshed afterwards.

DaisyStPatience · 06/05/2022 09:06

Definitely, definitely, definitely do NOT get fillers. You don't need them - in fact, you'd look worse if you had them. My lips are similar to yours and at the moment I'm into lots of different statement lipsticks in bright reds, oranges, pinks, dark browns and burgundies etc. If they are a strong feature don't change them, put them front and centre with bold colours! Also, maybe think about sacking off the beautician who advised you badly in the want of a few quid in her back pocket.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 06/05/2022 09:12

I think it’s the side profile which gives away lip filler.

BusterGonad · 06/05/2022 09:27

Op leave your lips as, they are. They are beautifully shaped. Treat yourself to a posh lipstick with the money instead. Chanel always makes me feel amazing.

Gilesgoesformiles · 06/05/2022 13:38

@Zippidy123 have you never heard of subtle enhancements that make you look ‘fresher’ without changing your whole look? I have filler in my thin top lip. My mum didn’t notice. When I told her she didn’t believe me, asked to see a before picture and was astounded she hadn’t noticed. In fact only one person has….plenty of people have said ‘your lipstick looks great today’ though. Wonder why….

Yessss! I had a nose job and my own father and best friend didnt notice. They are not the shy retiring types either so both of them would have definitely commented on it if they had noticed as they are both blunt speaking people who arent afraid of pointing out the obvious.

Vallmo47 · 06/05/2022 13:50

Glad you’ve decided not to OP.

1Step2Step · 06/05/2022 14:04

I think 1/2 ml would be appropriate/look good if you’re just looking to hydrate your lips . I have full lips like you but I’m in my mid forties so there’s definitely volume loss. I had 1 ml put in for the 1st time ever and after the swelling had died down it made them look 10 years younger. It filled in all the lines but didn’t “project” out or give me an unnatural lip profile.

You are not going to get duck lips /projection with just 0.5ml of filler so please ignore all these types of comments . If you want to experiment just go for it.

Suzi888 · 06/05/2022 14:06

Aniita · 05/05/2022 15:45

You have full, plump, even top and bottom lips. Why would you?

^ This!
.5ml is barely noticeable which is probably why she’s suggested it…££££££££
Don’t mess with lovely lips OP!
