Is this dress acceptable for a wedding? Non-religious, full day and night invite.

Bit worried it is too booby, sister says no, mum says yes

@dotmckee totally get it. It’s hard feeling confident. But you really should as you look great, and confidence makes one look even better so it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy

I’m always messing with my hair as I hate wearing it out. My friends basically beat ‘don’t touch it!’ into me and not fussing with it makes my hair stay looking better which makes me feel better. It was good advice. Just hard. But worth it.

I love it and you look gorgeous. But absolutely not with a cami or vest under. That would ruin it. If you're self conscious go with something else rather than spoiling it by trying make it something its not intended to be.

StarlightLady · 28/04/2022 17:43

I'd wear that to a wedding and I wouldn't bother with a camisole. Too many straps drives me crazy.

Very nice

May have found an alterative?

I prefer the first one

GenerallyGreenerGrass · 29/04/2022 11:35

Oh yes! Looks fab!

Midlifemusings · 29/04/2022 11:38

It is a nice dress and you look great in it but the low cut is clearly designed to accentuate and show off your boobs and so that is where the eye is drawn. You need to be the one that is comfortable with that. You could wear a light shawl or scarf during the ceremony to cover up a little more then take it off for the reception and party.

StarlightLady · 29/04/2022 11:39

I would wear the first one (if you don't want it, I'll have it! 😀) but not the second.

EmpressSuiko · 29/04/2022 11:49

It’s fine! If you are worried or feel uncomfortable just pop a black vest on underneath.

I much prefer the alternative. I don't like the first one at all. It's very fussy with the peplum, which I think looks odd with the plunge front. The cut out key hole back looks weird with the low cut front and the peplum.

Every one else likes. I thought it was far too fussy with about 4 different elements competing with each other.

The back is a keyhole so you couldn't wear anything under it.

The original one is the best and you look fabulous in it.
Not too booby at all imo.

BirdWatch · 30/04/2022 08:01

I prefer the first dress. Perhaps wearing a necklace with it would make you feel more covered and comfortable.

WouldBeGood · 30/04/2022 10:32

First one is much nicer

Mummumtum · 30/04/2022 20:38

First one is a million times better
