Allow me to recommend this dress to you.

Was in UNIQLO earlier and picked up these. I appreciate they don't look all that on the hanger, but:

  • they're a linen-cotton blend
  • they are very flattering on
  • they have pockets
  • the straps are adjustable
  • you can wear a bra under them (essential for me)
  • the ivory one comes with an underskirt.
  • they cost £34.90
  • they also come in a rust-y colour which would be lovely on the right skin tone (not mine)

I reckon I'll wear the hell out of these once the warmer weather comes. Can wear them with trainers and a denim jacket on cooler days, too.

Ooh I like, and I'm after a nice throw on summer dress. I'm going to look at the rust one as I do tend to suit those type of shades. Can I ask what height you are and what length they reach on you?

I'm 5'7 and they're mid-calf on me. I'm a size 10 and bought the small.

Ah, I'm only 5'3, and midi dresses can end up looking like maxi dresses on me, which isn't great. And I'm too lazy to sew 😂

I read that as "I'm 57 and they're mid calf on me..." I wondered what age had to do with dress length.

I'm 5"7 and have been looking for an easy to wear with trainers or flip flops dress.

Mid calf is perfect length.

However I'm a size 16. Would they look good on a larger person and what size should I order do you think?

I think they would! Like I said, very flattering and forgiving. Try an L maybe? The UNIQLO website has a thingy that you can put your details into and they'll recommend a size - but to be honest I always find their sizes a bit hit and miss.

They do look really good. Can I ask how much boob space there is please? It's a shame in a way the whole bodice isn't shirred as then it would fit different sizes.

I'm a 30g and the small was snug but not too tight. The medium gaped at the sides.

Funnily enough I was pondering over the rust one earlier as its a colour which particularly suits me but you don't find many summer clothes in. I was wondering if they were as nice in real like, so thanks OP I'll grab one now, might get a white one too Smile

Ordered the rust. It’s exciting buying clothes for summer. I’ve pretty much refreshed my whole wardrobe recently & have been selling things to offset some costs. It’s nice to have some new bits to wear that aren’t jeans!

Well I couldn't. Too tight around the bust, and I'd have to have flopped the whole boob out of the top.

I love this. I wonder if I could wear it, I've had a double mastectomy and wear prostheses so have to be careful with necklines.
