Was in UNIQLO earlier and picked up these. I appreciate they don't look all that on the hanger, but:

  • they're a linen-cotton blend
  • they are very flattering on
  • they have pockets
  • the straps are adjustable
  • you can wear a bra under them (essential for me)
  • the ivory one comes with an underskirt.
  • they cost £34.90
  • they also come in a rust-y colour which would be lovely on the right skin tone (not mine)

I reckon I'll wear the hell out of these once the warmer weather comes. Can wear them with trainers and a denim jacket on cooler days, too.

Allow me to recommend this dress to you.

@August1980

Ladies. How are you washing and ironing linen? I saw loads in the shops at the moment (Zara etc) but I am always out off it because I don’t know how to care for it! I am sat in a linen blend top now which looks like I just pulled it out the laundry basket!
I don't, if it is pure linen. Wash at 40 (it is fine at 60 as well) in a wshing machine that isn't packed with loads of other stuff (crucial), use fabric conditioner (one of very the few things I use it for!) and hang on a hanger to dry. It should come out completely crease free - occasionally the seams may need an iron..

Linen does crease when you wear it, but that is part of its charm.

I tried this on in the store and I loved the pockets and the overall feel but I didn't like what it did to my boobs. It kind of pushed them up and on display as if I was in a period drama. I think that can look great on other people but I don't like it on me. I noticed too late they had a navy blue one in a slightly different style with the whole bodice shirred, which I think will work better. Will have to return to try it on.

Has anyone now received theirs and they fit well? I used the sizing thing on the website and it said XL but they were only 32% sure!
im 5ft9 size 18 with a large chest. Does anyone think I might fit into an XL? Never bought from Uniqlo before.

Oooh, I made it into Swears By! I feel proud and famous.

And I don't know @StarCourt. I'm 5'7 and usually a 10. I got them in a small as the medium was gaping round the boobs. I'd maybe order an L and an XL? Their website always tells me I'm a medium and that's always too big.

I’m a size 34H and got the XL- it fits well across the chest. I’m planning on wearing a t-shirt underneath mine until the weather warms up. I was so happy to find this dress in Uniqlo- much more affordable than a similar one In Toast that I had been lusting after for a while!

Oh so pretty. I'm pregnant and maybe I can size up and try one
