Is it still jeans and a nice top?? I want to look quite nice. Bars and a club?? Special occasion.

Watching with interest. I often wear tunic style tops; they feel quite forgiving

It depends on where you live OP. People will come on here and tell you that that's 'dated' and you should be wearing a maxi dress and trainers or biker boots and a leather pencil skirt or some such. But if you wore those things in a club where I live you'd stand out a mile. Personally I think jeans and a nice top is a good safe choice. Leather leggings/trousers are also still popular where I am. Best advice though is from people who've been to that place themselves, or pictures on the website.

It's Birmingham if that helps. Big night out.

43 and doing the same in a few weeks.

I am going to wear a wrap maxi dress and biker boots but get my hair done all bouncy with loose curls and probably too much make up.

Am a 16 also.

Heels are dead to me now.

Lovinglife45 · 04/04/2022 20:30

I would suggest:
Silk/satin skirt, biker jacket, biker boots, hair and make up done

Midi dress with biker jacket, biker boots

Pvc skirt/dress with biker boots, faux fur coat

I wear jeans for day wear. They feel too casual to wear on a night out.

I’m the same age and size as you and I’d opt for dark flared jeans with a nice pretty top and some sort of wedge / chunky heeled sandals.

Beachlovingirl · 04/04/2022 20:30

I have a pair of black magic trousers and these go with anything and everything but are more dressy than jeans - and are very slimming. I also have a pair of leather look magic trousers which are more “dressy”.

What about trousers or jeans or leather joggers (like the ones from hush) and a silky top and a blazer? You can remove the blazer when you want to but if you keep it on it’s not like keeping a coat on.

Toponeniceone · 04/04/2022 20:32

Omg I own none of these clothes! Any links please?

Jewellry Quarter: maxi dress and trainers/chunky boots, or long satiny skirt with nice top, or flared jeans and nice top or Jumpsuit.
Brindley Place: bit more up market version of the above or trouser suit in a strong colour with white cami top.
Broad Street: lycra mini dress/white blazer dress fake tan and high heeled plastic mules Grin.

I went out the other week! Hoorah! I was going to wear jeans, but agree with the comment above that as am in jeans a lot (esp since wfh) I wanted to wear something different. So dress with black tights and boots, felt great! Same age and size Smile. I’m not very tall, so went with an above knee (but not mini). Maxi dresses are too long, don’t own a biker jacket and some of the other suggestions above don’t suit me without heels - 1st night out in a long time. I did not want to fall over!

Toponeniceone · 04/04/2022 20:44

What type of dress? I could buy something. I'm worried now!!

I would go round the shops , take a trusted friend and start trying on different items op, the only way to know what suits you and what you feel comfy in! Hope you have a lovely time

Mbear · 04/04/2022 20:48

Oh sorry it was this one - cheap and cheerful, but actually hangs really nicely on me. I suit that low, one tier look. I’ve got it in the darker colourway.

I like smart black jeggings and those long "shirred" tops? Area over boobs is like elasticated then the bottom flows. I like the look on me as I'm too heavy, so anything that doesn't pull in under the boob makes me look even huger than I am, yet I don't want tight over my stomach either.

I usually wear them with a light blazer, a long necklace and flat shoes.

I can't say I'm the trendiest of people, but I get comments that I look nice and I feel comfortable in that sort of outfit

Toponeniceone · 04/04/2022 20:49

Thank you! I haven't been in the vicinity of anyone going out for such a long time! I live in the back of beyond so no hope there!

@Toponeniceone, any thing she wants. And if she's menopausal, "anything she fucking wants. Have you got a problem with that??"
