Which of these Cartier watches do you like best?

Just as the title says! I've promised myself for a long time that I would invest in a luxury watch when I was able to and it comes down to these two Cartier watches, which I can decide between.

Which one would you choose? Rectangular face is the classic Tank Must and the circular face is the Balloon Bleu.

I prefer the circular one but can’t say I adore either personally. Have you looked at any others?

The square one looks more classy and premium.

I couldn't remotely afford one myself, but I like the Tank Must. I like the Roman numerals better than the diamonds or whatever the stones are, and I think the sleek design is more 'go with anything' than the chunkier Balloon one.

Yes looked at others and these are my two favourites, have been for years! But now the times come I can't decide which one to go for!

Definitely the square face, classic and understated. Had mine for my 21st and still wearing it many years later!

I prefer the circular one, the other one is a bit unfashionable, I guess a classic but I’d feel like an old lady wearing it.

The one on the left. Just so that you’re fully aware and just in case you’re not, Cartier watches need to be serviced. I have one and it has stopped (I’m praying there is nothing awful wrong with it) and the cost of service by Cartier is on the high side!

As a pp says, service costs are horrendous but repairs are free. At least you're not buying one with a leather strap, because as I discovered the replacement straps are £300 plus!

I have the ballon blue, but not with diamonds, I have the Roman numerals.

I coveted it for around 10 years before my husband bought me it. I adore it, it is sooo tactile, beautiful shape. It’s by far my most favourite piece of jewellery.

I wear it every day…

Definitely the Tank for me.

I'd get the tank. If you're spending the kind of money that a Cartier watch costs, then I think classic is the way to go, unless you really really loved the other one in which case I'd say to go with what that. Since you are torn I'd go for classic

I remember making this decision 15 years ago. I bought myself the Tank Americane with diamonds around the face. I still love it, even though I've bought other lovely watches since. I bought mine overseas though to get the VAT back as a tourist in that country. It's trebled in price since.

The servicing is expensive. Over £1k last time I replaced the glass (crystal) face and had the gold band polished.

They are both lovely but honestly; you need to try them on because different shapes look better on different wrists from experience.
