So how does Jane Seymour look so good.

She's a stunningly beautiful woman who no doubt eats well and looks after herself and her skin.

She still looks incredible for 71.

So what might her real secret be? Not what she tells interviewers, but what she actually does. She seems to carefully say she wouldn't have surgery or fillers, but does that definition exclude Botox or other treatments?

Extremely jealous whatever the reason.

@dumdumduuuummmmm

Agree with all the pp who question *@SusieAndTheBannedShes* assertion. I have never seen anyone look 20 years younger than they are. Not even supermodels or great Hollywood beauties. 10 years yes, I've seen many. But not 20.
Hmmm, my mid sixties mother will pass for a late 40’s women.

My 90 year old grandma looks the same age as my 70 year old grandma.

It all comes down to genetics as well as how well you’ve looked after yourself.

Some people just age well, some people don’t.

PandoraP · 01/04/2022 18:59

I think some people can look 20 years older, but not 20 years younger. Most people just look good for their age if they have aged well.

5128gap · 01/04/2022 19:06

I'm not going to argue whether its possible to look 20 years younger or not. Given the women I see in the street aren't wearing a badge with their age on, I've no idea whether the ones who look 40 are really 60, and vice versa, and neither does anyone else. Just can't fathom the rush to contradict women who say they look younger though, when you have no idea what they look like, and it shouldn't matter in the least to you how old some stranger on MN thinks she looks. Seems its for no reason than to pull her down.

Gonnagetgoing · 01/04/2022 19:09

@PandoraP - some people do, eg my DM and to a certain extent me. But we’ve got very good genes. I’m 50 and regularly get thought I’m in early 30s or even 30.

Gonnagetgoing · 01/04/2022 19:11

@DrWhoNowww - same re my nana when she was alive. Ridiculously good skin, amazing bone structure and at 90 easily looked 70. My other grandmother but she was step so not related by birth looked great in her 70s and 80s and looked 10 years younger but not more.

Jane Seymour only eats one meal a day,I watched an interview with her a while ago.

MrsVeryTired · 01/04/2022 19:28

I keep getting ID'd at the supermarket, I'm 48 Grin on close looking there isn't a cat in hells chance I look under 25 but these people seem to think it at a quick glance (or not so quick as I load piles of shopping!)

There is a massive difference in how people age, clothes, hair, skin, figure all interplay.

ChampooPapi · 01/04/2022 19:34

@AmberLynn1536 agreed! People looking ten years younger is for sure a thing, but twenty?? Never

ChampooPapi · 01/04/2022 19:38

@DrWhoNowww okay I concede with that actually. I have seen 90+ year olds who look on their mid 70s many times where I work at the hospital. Some of the women I've seen really do look amazing for their age. But I think it's definitely when you get over a certain age that this starts to happen, a kind of levelling I suppose once you have degraded a bit and caught a few wrinkles 🤔

ChampooPapi · 01/04/2022 19:40

Interestingly some people , men and women alike , look better with age, and others who shine when they are younger look old before their time. I guess lifestyle and stress as well as genetics, money, surgery.... All has to be considered in the mix

OverByYer · 01/04/2022 19:51

She has good bone structure and is slim , so doesn't have that jowly look which is ageing.
She is being disingenuous saying she has had no work, she admitted to an eye lift previously and would have access to the best beauty treatments available.
She does still look gorgeous though.

I agree, it's a whole look. People go on about skin texture and wrinkles, but most people don't scrutinise that when estimating age, they look at the whole person. If a woman is petite, slim (which brings the added advantage of looking good in youthful clothes) has good posture, lots of hair, and avoids any 'uniform' looks of her age group, she will be perceived as very much younger. Conversely she could have the smoothest skin in the world, but if she presents more maturely in clothes, hair, figure, she will be percieved as older. I think its as much to do with not matching the stereotype for that age group as anything.
LivesinLondon2000 · 01/04/2022 20:14

Didn’t Helen Mirren have a face lift a few years ago? She was pictured out and about with bandages and a scarf in LA and when asked, neither denied nor confirmed it.
She does look great though and I’d like the name of her surgeon!
No idea about Jane Seymour though

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 01/04/2022 22:13

At a quick glance the hair and Hollywood teeth have a massive part to play in her youthful appearance.
But her skin looks like that of a woman in her 60s or 70s

PuppyMonkey · 01/04/2022 22:20

Forget Jane Seymour, I want to find out more about @SusieAndTheBannedShes Grin

Ah. Intermittent fasting and cell regeneration amongst other things. That could really help too
MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 01/04/2022 22:59

@ElizabethinherGermanGarden

Plus she was stunning to start with. I take hope from Helen Mirren, who occasionally looked like a bag of spanners in her younger days and grew into her beautiful face once she hit forty or so.
She had a well documented face lift Grin
AnastasiaRomanov · 01/04/2022 23:06

Did anyone see Britt Ekland on Marigold Hotel. She still clearly believes she’s stunningly beautiful . She’s had loads of ‘work’ and it looks absolutely awful.

Justmuddlingalong · 01/04/2022 23:08

I remember reading she used a strip of duct tape across the back of her neck to pull back any sags and jowls, under her long hair. I tried it in my last passport photo. It worked. 😁

Franklin12 · 01/04/2022 23:09

I do think people who are mid 60’s and claiming people think they are early 40’s have some wishful thinking going on there. Very wishful, presumably with no help at all other than early nights and drinking lots of water!

I was once told to get back to school af mistaken for a 15year old who apparently people who had seen her said I was the double of. I was about 30 at the time.

She's 79 years old. Is there ever a point when a particular type of woman doesn't feel the need to put the boot into a more beautiful one?
SwedishEdith · 02/04/2022 09:39

I bet she'll have had a chin/neck tuck thing done. I think nearly all celebs/those in the public eye do that- you can sometimes spot the tell-tale scar under the chin. She looks like the BBC's Jenny Hill.

Agree with a pp that many women between 40s and 60s can look very generic - same layered shoulder-length haircut and same shape, especially if overweight.

nordica · 02/04/2022 09:50

I think Jane Seymour used that beautifying Zoom filter on the One Show that makes you look super smooth and glowy. She is very beautiful though and I actually think she has got more beautiful with age compared to her first film appearances.

And as for the never-ending MN arguments about whether someone can look much younger... My mother and I are both in that category. I don't even want to look younger so wouldn't claim it if it wasn't true. At nearly 40 I'm still mistaken for being in my 20s. My skin hasn't really changed over the years although fortunately I finally have some grey hairs so might start looking like a real adult soon. Grin
