Following on from the Nivea soft thread (under £5 on Amazon)...what other hidden treasures are there that I don't know about?

I've found carmex original lip balm in a tub to be amazing. Costs under £3

L'Oreal dream lengths shampoo/conditioner has really sorted my hair out. On offer it was £2.75 for 500ml.

Garnier hand repair hand cream 75ml is so good, cost £2 from Amazon

Garnier hair food, I think I have the brown one with macadamia oil. £3.50 for 500ml

Sudocrem for acne and sunburn, recently bought 400g for £5.75

Any other suggestions?

I bought some Atrixo after reading this thread. £3.99 and better than the really spendy stuff from L’Occitane. Also Sudocreme.

Revolution Pro full coverage camouflage concealer, perfect to hide the blasted thread veins, stays put once dabbed en situ with fingertips, zillion shades to choose from and mix to get the perfect match, cheap as chips.
No need to smother all over, just the offending area and blend to disappear into rest of the face.
Have tried everything and always found this to work best.

17 Liquid Liner. The brush one.

Thank God it’s finally returned.

LadyEloise1 · 18/04/2022 16:41

Boots 17 is back.
What was that all about ?

Deline · 18/04/2022 22:17

None of you will believe me on this, but TRUST ME!!!

I have always used super expensive products, a friend recommended this and OMG. Shock Makes me look tanned, even, holds back the grease and stays all day. Various people over the last two weeks have said I look great! I LOVE it and have bought 5 Grin

Please try it!

Deline · 18/04/2022 22:17

(I do use Urban Decay setting spray though, which may be why it stays all day)

I buy Oil of evening primrose oil capsules: pierce them and one capsule does the whole face neck hands and elbows. It is so moisturising and so cheap!

LittleWhingingWoman · 19/04/2022 01:23

Rimmel argan oil mascara or the cucumber wake me up mascara in the green tube.
Avon glimmerstick eyeliners.
L'Oréal makeup is the same as Lancôme, Borjois the same as Chanel.
Aldi do brilliant skincare, mascara and lipstick.
EBay are great for half bottles or samples of perfumes.
Basic Nivea and Astral.
Palmers and Alberto Balsam do brilliant shampoos that are cheap and don't have lots of nasties in.
Skin food by Weleda lasts forever and you can mix it with face oil (vitamin e or coconut oil from Boots)

Oooh love this idea!

A new find, Primark tanning drops, the sort you mix with moisturiser. Only used on my face so far but have given me a lovely healthy glow. £3.

Do you mean from the vitamin section? Sounds amazing

I've been using the Lip Spa/Lip Glow tinted balm from Collection - it's a great dupe for Dior lip glow and feels really nice on with a really gentle sheer colour.
3.99 in Superdrug.

WinterCarlisle · 23/04/2022 23:37

I’m thinking of having a go with some retinol. Any particular cheaper product you’d recommend? I’m 42, pale with sensitive skin. Any dos or don’ts? How do you even use it? Many thanks and I hope you don’t mind me picking your brains!

My favourite product is a giant bottle of organic almond that I’ve had for a year. I use it on my skin and then once a week I comb it through my hair and leave overnight. It’s great! Would really recommend

7eleven · 23/04/2022 23:54

The Inkey List products are cheapish and cruelty free. The website is informative.

AlexanderTheGreat · 24/04/2022 00:50

Cerave dry skin cleanser. So good and a joy to use.

glossier boy brow- not the cheapest but the only one that doesn’t make me look ridiculous.

Flexitol heel balm, life changing.

T Gel shampoo for dry hair is the only one that sorts my mild psoriasis and leaves my hair looking decent.

SmiledWtherisingsun · 24/04/2022 10:42

@AlexanderTheGreat how often do you use the flexitol? Do you put it on at night?

SmiledWtherisingsun · 24/04/2022 10:49

On the perfume front, I can recommend SJPs ‘Lovely’. Very cheap off Amazon, but smells much more expensive.

That's always on sale in Supersavers too. I will try it next time I pop in for bleach! Daffodil
