Following on from the Nivea soft thread (under £5 on Amazon)...what other hidden treasures are there that I don't know about?

I've found carmex original lip balm in a tub to be amazing. Costs under £3

L'Oreal dream lengths shampoo/conditioner has really sorted my hair out. On offer it was £2.75 for 500ml.

Garnier hand repair hand cream 75ml is so good, cost £2 from Amazon

Garnier hair food, I think I have the brown one with macadamia oil. £3.50 for 500ml

Sudocrem for acne and sunburn, recently bought 400g for £5.75

Any other suggestions?

Aussie 3 minute miracle on bleached hair, I use instead of normal conditioner every time I wash and it leaves my straw mop feeling lovely. 3 for a tenner in the supermarket usually

Strictlydusting · 14/04/2022 07:36

@Snoopdogsbitofposh bought a sample of the lipstick you recommended from Avon in the coral shade - best lipstick I have ever had and even DH commented on my lovely lip colour! Massive thanks ! Have ordered another shade to try as well .
My recommendation is the illuminating foundation from Poundland. I have deep pores and struggle to find foundation that doesn’t sit in them. This went of well and made my skin look fabulous and was still in place 12 hours later.

Chewchewaboogie · 14/04/2022 16:10

Strictlydusting what lipstick was it please???

LookdeepintotheParka · 14/04/2022 16:43

Has anyone already mentioned the Aldi Lacura facial cream? It's amazing, absorbs right in and makes my skin incredibly soft.

I think it was £1.99 and it's probably one of the best moisturisers I've used 🤣

@Snoopdogsbitofposh
I find the Revlon Youth FX Fill and Blur concealer great.
The wee spongy ball thingy for application is similar but smaller and therefore better imo than the similar Maybelline Instant Age erase.
They may have discontinued it Angry

Nivea Bye bye dry skin masks

ElenaSt · 14/04/2022 23:13

Johnson’s baby lotion is excellent for removing make up. Cuts through everything like one of those adverts for a really dirty greasy frying pan!

Strictlydusting · 15/04/2022 14:36

@Chewchewaboogie Avon anew lipstick with serum on fresh flambé- a lovely orange !

Nooo! I've just bought both Fibrology products having read this thread! I won't expect miracles then 😒
Fibrology is awesome. Best hair thickening shampoo out there. You really can tell the difference.
Billandben444 · 16/04/2022 06:40

Well, I used both the Fibrology products and wasn't impressed. My hair did seem fuller but felt dry and had lost any shine. I suppose if you want sleek and glossy then you forego extra volume?

HeatherShiver · 16/04/2022 07:09

Revelash eyelash serum.
Its £8/9 quid online and contains bitamoprost which is the active ingredient in very expensive serums.
My eyelashes were non existent after Xmas (extensions fail, my own fault).
They now are super long.

L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Detox Face Mask

The grey/black one.

userxx · 16/04/2022 08:56

Most of the lacura skin products are amazing, think my favourite is the rose oil.

Bonbon21 · 16/04/2022 09:46

Sudocreme... moisturises everything!! Slap it on feet, wear cotton socks overnight...slap it on hands, wear cotton gloves overnight. Amazing soft skin next day.
NOT the best smell I agree, but oh the relief!!!
Sorts itchy skin, insect bites, soothes dry skin on elbows and knees..
You only need a little bit as it spreads.... and spreads.. hence the socks and gloves!!

ByeByeMissAmericanPie · 17/04/2022 07:16

Sudocreme has gone by the name of Magic Cream in my house for over 20 years! It’s certainly earned it’s reputation.
I’ve now found it in mini tubs so it can travel with me too.

flashbac · 17/04/2022 08:42

Baby oil for frizzy hair. Rub into wet hair before blowdrying.

Oblomov22 · 17/04/2022 08:49

I need to buy some of these.

God, I love the smell of Sudocreme Grin
Billandben444 · 17/04/2022 08:52

Just ordered the Revelash eye serum!

imstilljenny2 · 17/04/2022 11:32

Where are you getting Revelash from? I can't seem to find it anywhere when I search online (I'm in Spain on holiday though and keep getting Spanish hits when I search online). Can't seem to find it on Amazon or any other online retailer.

Nivea soothing night cream sensitive skin is much better than Ren night mask cream by a long shot.

Justleaveitblankthen · 17/04/2022 13:10

@theDudesmummy

People have mentioned various mascaras. I used to have normal sort of lashes, now since menopause they have practically disappeared, they are so much shorter. I don't want much volume, just the illusion of more length! I have bought loads of really expensive so called lengthening ones and they don't really work. Any tips?

I'm exactly the same as you. God how I miss my luscious lashes of my 20's Sad
The mascara I swear by now - and the only one with a 'wand' that doesn't give me black eyes - is by Collection, Fast stroke defining lash.
I buy it at Tesco for around £3 I think. You can literally cover each lash individually with the wand with practice. Helps if you use an eyelash curler beforehand, also from Tesco, £2.
