So, please post your tales of seasonal excess and gorgeous food here! I will start a new proper 10yy in the New Year. Welcome everyone.

I had duck on Christmas day and have been thoroughly enjoying

duck and cranberry sauce sandwiches
Cambozola with cranberry
dolcelatte with etc
brie with cranbry
toast with butter
Champagne

It's most enjoyable! So, confess here for our delectation and then we can back to bootcamp in January 08 for those who want to!

Happy Christmas everyone!

I'm ready to turn over a new leaf tomorrow. dh is away for 10 days, kids will be back at school, the world's my lobster.

I will be boiling up today's chicken carcass tomorrow and making making virtuously healthy chicken soup and/or risotto.

This will be accompanied by a little light cleaning and maybe a trip to the gym (haven't been since half-term)

ROFL sobernow, you are on good form tonight
Batters, the Eve Lom stuff I use looks alarmingly like snot in a pot and comes with a little designer dishcloth, is that the one you have? If so, you put about .5 teaspoonful of the gunk onto your dry face, massaging it well in, then you rinse it off using hot water and the cloth, finishing with a tepid rinse. It really is the dogs and I don't care that it is basically vaseline and some essential oils.
I have a rather tragic Eve Lom anecdote. My jumbo current jar was probably the single most valuable item in my entire luggage for my trip to Scotland , so I daftly thought I could not risk losing this elixir by sending it in my checked baggage. Carefully put it in required see-through plastic bag to take through security, only to be told by Rosa Klebb-alike that it is double the maximum permitted size of lotion/cream/liquid and that I have two choices - to "leave it with her" (yeah right, I expect she bathes in neat Jo Malone nightly, the grasping witch) or to go back past the men with machine guns and ask nicely if the BA staff will stick it in one of our checked bags (a Dora and Diego holdall as it turned out). Approach the lovely Justin at the BA check-in desk rather sheepishly, and the minute he clocks the Eve Lom logo, he just says, "I'll get your case for you". I don't have to say a word.
Il fault souffrir pour etre belle

Just realised that every single meal we had today came from M&S, prawns in garlic butter for supper, lovely

But, onwards, tomorrow is serious, NEW THREAD HERE

I'll post here tonight and use new serious thread tomorrow.

www - M&S junkie.
arfing at sobernow & marina

I've just had a Sunday night spa! I feel great. Hot shower, legs shaved, hair wash, flexitol, Crabtree & Evelyn cocoa butter everywhere, Estee Lauder Daywear from cleavage upwards, painted nails & toenail (OK so it's only one coat of Rimmel Dry in 60 Seconds but it looks fine). Eyebrows plucked. I should make this a regular fixture - it only took just over an hour.

I've eaten toast & marmite, ham & coleslaw sandwich, Wotsits (I blame www), jam tart, minestrone soup, wholemeal bread, slice of Christmas cake and half a bag of Liberty's Scorched Almonds - divine!

Lots of water and only 2 cups of coffee. No booze. Not much exercise either though. Will be in bed by 11pm.

DD1 has a temp of 104C and a hacking cough so she'll be at home tomorrow as well as DD2 who's pre-sch is closed for floor varnishing. So it's only DS1 who's going (all that getting up and rushing about for a measly score of 1 out of 3). [grimace]

DeckthehallswithboughsofDolly · 06/01/2008 22:30

I have eaten like a demon the last few days. Polished off the last (nearly) of the Christmas goodies and now am fat as a house. Bra too tight and I have a fat back . I can't bear bra spillage over the front or under the back and I have BOTH. I am a tub of lard and not happy.

My new Moron should arrive next week - very excited. Sad it coincides with my nervous forays onto the south circular in the new motor but hope to reach the 10000 anyway. Talking of the motor, some f?!*er has scratched it already and I have only had it for a fortnight!

Sorry the kids are ill Duchess. I know what you mean about the effort to be made without the full benefit. My DD1 is very whiney today so tomorrow might be a day at home for her and DH and I can fight it out as to who will skive off work.

Marina, am deeply impressed by the eve lom story. I have never splashed out on Eve but the Liz earle rip off is quite good.

SObernow, you are truly hilarious. I am much worse with booze now than when i was a callow youth. It's a school night tonight so only 1 glass all day.

Good luck for the commute WWW and everyone else with a long journey. Popping over to the serious thread now

arfishy · 07/01/2008 11:18

I've just nipped in (whilst eating a curry) to dob in cod for hiding this thread.

I'm not here. Back next week.

[eats remainder of christmas pud and cream, followed by gorgeous imported chablis]
