Plus Sized Tights

Any recommendations? Happy to go into a shop or buy online. I like thick black tights (100 denier or similar) and like them to be non-shiny! UK size 20 with a tummy so I prefer them high waisted 😊

In my case I'm not plus sized, but I have long legs, and I find Snag fit extremely well and the crotch isn't half way down my thighs.

I literally don't shop in any of those. There aren't any for them for miles. I've never bought anything from any of them online either.

I do genuinely really like Snag - they actually fit properly, and make the nude ones in a shade pale enough for my milk bottle legs. I'm not being paid by Snag to say so if that's what you're implying.

Another vote for Snag. They’re the only tights that don’t make my legs itch. I got the most amazing orange/ rose gold sparkly pair for Christmas which I’m a little bit in love with. I also have some basic black and grey ones which are really nice too.

Totally not any kind of Snag agent - have been here for a trillion years - and I was skeptical at first, but being a BIG girl I wanted to try them and their pink sparkly tights have made me so blooming happy...! Wore them all over Christmas and feel like I can actually wear tights and not constantly stress they're going to roll down over all the various tummies.... Definitely addictive - they are expensive but will be ordering some more as soon as my bank account has recovered from Christmas.

@Beigeisthenewblack 🤣🤣 I always have major doubts about these things too! Any high street recommendations? I’ve had from Tescos, Asda, Primark, Simply Be, M&S and ASOS and I can’t say I’ve been overly impressed with any of them! There seems so be no consistency in sizing either - one pack from Asda fitted great but bought the exact same ones a few months later and they don’t fit me at all!

@SilverGlassHare I’ll have a look at the White Stuff ones, thanks 😊 I’ve seen their clothes recommended on here a few times but I’ve never shopped with them actually 😊

I hate the Patty Plain ones, btw. They’re thicker almost knitted material and I’ve found they shrink in the wash - they get sort of tight and stiff, like the threads have contracted. The Olivia ones are much better.

Snag only tights I wear so comfortable and never holed or snagged or wore out a pair yet. I am 6ft tall and plus sized and don’t possess a black pair but have navy and brighter colours.

Maybe, just maybe we've found that they're good tights in comparison to the ones we've tried before, because they stretch both width wise and length wise, you need to figure out your size though. Hmm maybe I do sound like an agent 🤔

I don't know what size they go to as they have weird size coding, but I'll vary the Snag live by suggesting Better tights. Got some yellow ones for Children in Need day and wish they were a more wearable colour as they're otherwise great!

Another vote for Snag here, I hate wearing tights as even when I wasn’t plus size I could never find any that were comfortable no matter how much I spent on them.
Now as a tall size 22-24 I can wear Snag tights all day.

Snag for me too. I stopped wearing tights until a friend recommended them.

I've never heard of Snag but the Sainsburys XL fit me perfectly. You sound a very similar shape and size to me.

I'm probably in a minority of one here because I don't like most Snag tights colours. Their navy isn't navy but bright blue, not great for my workplace.

I never wore tights until I tried snag. Now I only ever wear dresses with tights.

I had a drawer full of M&S, Yours(awful feel to them) and various other brands that I would need to contort my rather large arse into before the indignity of having to “superman” them in place with a pair of control pants to keep the bloody useless tights up
Now of a morning I slip into my Snags and away we go, absolute bliss.
Oh and they are a Scottish company so win win.

Oh I love my snag tights, plenty of length in the body so no dangly gusset! Still occasionally go through the toes which I sew up but I’ve not found a better fit for my big and beautiful body anywhere else.

Snag here too. Comfy, look good & strong enough not to ladder within a day. The plain nude ones I get for work are perfect.

Suspect the reason there are not a lot of high street recommendations is because most of them are shit!

M&S used to do a decent control top nude pair, bought them for years. Then they just discontinued them and what's left is useless.

This! Other tights only ever seem to get longer in the leg as you go up sizes! My height is in my back and most tights barely come above my hip bones in any size.

Yes. The body length in them makes them very comfortable for me.

I'm 5ft 10 and a size 16 and they're the only tights to ever fit me

I've tried Snag but I think I've got them in the wrong size as they're way too big..... and do stretch outwards as well as upwards.

They do last however, if you don't mind looking like Nora Batty.

Snag . But I buy the footless tights and wear with thick socks and boots - no toes to get holes in .

Boots and Sainsbury’s XL are my go-to tights, but I do have a lot of Snag coloured and patterned tights. The 80 denier last really well and just keep going. The thinner ones are not so good.
