80’s pixie boots

GoodnightGrandma · 17/12/2021 21:39

I’m having an 80’s thing at the moment and was thinking about the pixie boots I used to wear, with leg warmers.
Has anyone seen anything similar ?

Hotter Pixie 11 boots

Oh yes but I preferred lilac mascara

I had a pink mascara Shock it was BarryM (they used to do the DazzleDust and other delicious make-up .

I think I bought electric blue , green and the pink ( back in the day , the fashion tips were to use on the ends of your lashes like a colour tip , or apply the use a black on the ends so it looked like liner )
I'm sure I looked like an albino rabbit Grin

@70isaLimitNotaTarget

Mine were black and no zips . Only my Mother would've worn zipped ankle boots (most likely Damart)

horrified teen alert

I've been looking for a pair of flat, brogue style lace up ankle boots. I used to have several in the 2000s to 2100s. I have rejected so many because they have zips.

Mrsbrownsbuoys · 18/12/2021 22:21

Kimikos I had those in the 90s too. Can't find anything like them now. They had slightly pointed toe.

In the 80s I had red leather pixie boots, I luvved them!

I'm tempted by the button boots here or the flat Regency boots but they are shipped from US so there's tax and shipping on top of the price.

I had a grey pair of ankle ones with a fringed foldover top and a tassle on the zip. Unfortunately they had a block heel and were really uncomfortable.
Later I had burgundy mid calf suede slouchy ones, for some reason I never let them slouch. I wore leg warmers to bulk out my skinny legs and used folded over sellotape to stick them to my legs so they would stay up.
I also had burgundy loafers ( I'm sensing a theme here). We had left our house in England and came to NI to live with my Gran. I went ahead of my mum and my Gran bought me the loafers for starting high school. I was made up because my mum would have made me get a lace up sensible pair. I thought I was so cool. I wore them with white knee high school socks 🤭

GoodnightGrandma · 19/12/2021 06:42

I had black mascara on top, and electric blue on the bottom, to match my blue eyeliner.

Oh they're great! Mind you, I think at the time mine cost a lot less than that! Grin

Gensola · 19/12/2021 08:11

I had mushroom ones - no zip, but super slouchy leather. I adored them!

LadyNell · 20/12/2021 08:11

I had burgundy suede ones pointed, fold over I think and a little heel not flat

MerylSqueak · 20/12/2021 08:28

I had grey plether one from Dolcis. I'd love them again. I have looked but I haven't seen anything as good

Oh.... I love those! I want some purple ones!

SoupDragon · 20/12/2021 08:34

I have fond memories of many pairs of 80s boots. My favourites were black ankle boots in a thin suede with fasteners like this up the side...

I had pale grey pixie boots, but my fave boots were white flat ones with cleats you looped the laces round, they looked like ice skating boots without the blades!

Wedmorewhine4 · 20/12/2021 17:56

My pixie boots had pointy toes and a folded down top. They were sort of neat rather than slouchy and I think they were purple. I think they were a sort of medieval retro look (!) I wore them with a black ra ra skirt (2 tiers), softly spiked short hair (dyed black with some blue tips) and a slouchy slightly off shoulder pink and black zebra print top. All from Chelsea Girl. Electric blue mascara. I think I may have had black mascara. Happy times.

*black lips. Electric blue mascara.

Oh I loved mine...they had fringing down the side, and another pair had tassels on the back.

Flyinggeese1234 · 20/12/2021 19:08

OP I have these and feel a bit 80s in them www.monsoon.co.uk/slouch-suede-kitten-boots-black-15173401.html

Absolutely love slouch boots of all kinds.

Hadsuchahardday · 20/12/2021 19:13

My best friend and I bought matching ones- black suede with a paisley print kinda etched into the suede- you could only see that close up. Pointy with virtually no heel and very thin soles. Never I have I wished more that I’d bought 2 pairs at once for when the first wore out. Sigh.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 20/12/2021 19:34

oooooh I had a pair bought with my Student Grant Money, from BHS on Oxford Street, they were suede, stoney cream mushroomy colour and just like the ones in @RaskolnikovsIgloo 's picture.

I wore them with my swooshy black cord skirt, with my tiered peasant lace edge petticoat hanging down and I was so slim I could wear a head scarf as a cummerbund type belt.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 20/12/2021 19:35

and emerald green mascara, I did have some electric blue, but felt the green was better with my green eyes.

SingingSands · 20/12/2021 19:48

When I was in primary school I wanted a pair of bright red ticket boots so badly. Didn't get them for Xmas nor for my birthday in January. My mum had very strict ideas about how we dressed as kids (and it was hideous, old fashioned stuff).

Then one day in June my lovely daddy came home from his stint of working away, and he presented me with a box. And inside were a pair of bright red tucker boots. Daddy home and tucker boots on the same day. That's one of my happiest childhood memories. Grin

Coffeepot72 · 20/12/2021 19:50

This is taking me back to the best decade ever! It was a great time to be a teenager

quirkychick · 20/12/2021 20:05

I had a black, suede pair from either Ravel or Dolcis. Quite similar to the ones linked above, but with a low heel. You could either wear them slouchy or turned down with sheepskin lining. As they were black, I could wear them to school too Grin.

The electric blue mascara was useless on me, dark eyelashes with only lighter ends that barely showed. I did go for navy mascara and eyeliner which was great with blue eyes. This was early/mid 80s, by the late 80s, I definitely went for black lipstick.
