They do, but in a different way. I’ll have to have a closer look I think. They do look like her, to me, but very much a portrait feel.

Jumping in after seeing these photos on the BBC. I knew you lot would have them first! I like the photos, particularly the side portrait, but she does look completely different.

Yes, her smile is usually a little on the exaggerated side, probably overcompensating as I don’t think she particularly enjoys being centre of attention. These actually feel much more natural to me - which is what a good photographer does very well. I think she felt relaxed, happy and at ease when these were taken.

I don't think they look like her! The first one looks heavily filtered to make her look younger than what she is, the second one is just plain weird and she's barely recognisable in the third!

She looks about 18 in the first portrait! She's a very attractive woman but she definitely can't pass for a teenager - the airbrushing has gone a bit too far there.

I do like the drama of the red dress though, apparently McQueen. And the photographer is a fashion photographer, not one they usually use.

Gosh! I agree with everyone, I really didn't recognise Kate, the pictures are very arty, but somehow don't seem to capture her at all. Is it the eyes?
The photo upthread in the tartan coat is a prettier image.

On reflection I do prefer the third portrait and, as @Ninkanink says, she looks modern. The red lip is also a bit of a departure.

Still not too keen on the other two. The first has an 80s vibe that's reminiscent of the soft-focus Diana pics of the 80s, and the second is a bit Victorian and Julia Margaret Cameron.

They are lovely photos of Kate, but like a lot of you, I almost wouldn't recognise her in them!

It's definitely the mouth/chin that's throwing me. If you cover up the lower half of her face, then she looks like Kate, IYSWIM.

They are beautiful photos and appropriate for her position. The red dress with pockets is gorgeous.

But they don't capture the "Catherineness" that I love to see: those photos with her kids, a hand in William"s lap at a concert, a hockey stick or in mud with a bunch of Scouts laughing her head off.

Everyone says Diana was so natural, but Catherine really is without the dark.

I quite like them. Agree though she looks a little unlike what we are used to. I think the filtering has made her look like she has fillers and that's what is throwing her face.

Bit Cecil but nice - that soft focus suits them as formal portraits.

Loving the red dress with pockets! Would look even nicer with a subtle, every-day tiara with a ruby or ten 😆

I've been trying to figure out what is bothering me about these pics and I think it's her hair! She never wears her hair like that and I can't get a visual of her in front of a wind machine to achieve the look out of my head 😆 Love the red dress. The side profile photo I really dislike, it's just odd and not like her at all. Also, I would have liked to see a tiara!!!
