I think what Kate wore was fine. Perfectly appropriate. She looked lovely.

Beatrice and Zara also came to the event. I like Zara's coat, though I guess it's not very festive, and it's amazing how Beatrice has found one that matches her hair colour!

I like Bea's coat and shoes there.

I like Kate in her scarlet coat, bright and cheerful and very seasonal, just right for a cold wet December day. If she had wanted to do something a little different, I think purple shoes would have made the outfit zing a bit. The colour certainly suits her, and the style shows off her slender figure.

Zara & Mike haven’t bothered much, they look as though they are off to John Lewis to buy a duvet.

Bea seems really taken with that golden caramel colour, I think she was wearing a caramel skirt a few days ago, perhaps she’s wearing it under the coat. I like her look there.
(Edo must win as the most suave of the royal husbands!)

Edo is certainly easy on the eye but I bet Mike is a good laugh! I think Zara looks better there than in her formal "trussed up" ensembles.

I don’t mind the red coat either. She does tend to wear red for Christmas events (ever the thematic dresser!), and this was a good option.

The Middleton’s were there as well - here’s Carole, Pippa, James and Alizée entering the Abbey.

I also loved this picture of Princess Amalia planting her first tree as a grown up royal, while Mum and Dad look on proudly behind her.

I think Kate’s outfit is ok, nothing more, nothing less. Zara’s outfit is actually nice on other pics, more sparkly and blue and brings out the colour of her eyes. She has fab shoes on too, maybe Aquazurra (sp?),I will look for a pic. Mike’s gasman blue trousers are dreadful though ,😂 he needs to ask Edo for tips.
Eug looks lovely, her make up is glowy, the colour suits her, as does Bea, she suits the caramel shades.
I do like Sophie’s look, it sort of works but is Christmas colour overload.

Bea looks gorgeous these days. Motherhood really suits her. Edo is indeed easy on the oculars.

I really like Kate's red coat but may I suggest these as alternative footwear?

I love the red coat-dress but agree different shoes and bag would be great. Eugenie has a super cape coat on. Sophie's cord coat is awful.

I think Pippa and Bea have the same coats on?
I think Zara looks great and love Bea's 1940s esque shoes.

The cape is a look! And sensible Eugenie for eschewing stilettos for warm boots.

Kate resembles her mother more with the passing of each year doesn't she? I thought at first glance that Alizée was a teenage cousin who'd joined them for a night out!

I had a cape like Eugenie's when I was about 9. It was double breasted green corduroy, and it was fab.
I like Zara's look, not Beatrice - the shape and colour of the coat are unflattering.

Can't get excited about Kate's overkill in red, really boring outfit - c'mon Kate gave us some sparkle!!! Zara and Eugenie both looked fab. Bea... not keen on the camel colour on her at all. Sophie, a bit too casual.

I saw these photos today and thought how lovely they both were, just because of the way Eduardo is looking at Beatrice, and Max is looking at Amalia

I like the red on Kate but I can't get passed it being the same style as her black coat for Philip's funeral. Eugenie's cape is fab but the pictures I've seen she looks like she forgot her skirt. Sophie looks like she got her coat from DFS. But I like her top and trousers. I think Pippa was the best of the bunch.

I can't put my finger on it but there's something I don't like about Edo (sorry!) Kate's red a bit boring alright but she has worn so many similar styles that I can't picture anything else on her!
