Who remembers Revlon Flex shampoo?

I had long forgotten this shampoo and conditioner but caught a whiff of it on my hair after using L’Oréal dream lengths. It’s not really the same but something registered in my scent memory.I loved it in my teens and 20s. The conditioner was thick and yellow and the smell lingered in your hair for days plus my hair felt bouncy and shiny. Win , win.
Does anyone know if you can still get it anywhere?

We used to get one called Body on Tap. Did you?

It smelt amazing. And I remember my hairdresser at the time recommending it Grin

@notacooldad

My favourite shampoo used to be Vidal Sasoon. It had a gorgeous smell.
Almonds. My first grown up shampoo, my mum bought it me for Christmas with some Mary Quant makeup. I felt so sophisticated.
A580Hojas · 19/11/2021 06:26

I bought some Revlon Flex shampoo on holiday in Spain about 3 or 4 years ago. Was so excited I put a photo of the bottle up on Facebook.

ApolloandDaphne · 19/11/2021 06:31

My favourite shampoo was Alberto VO5 Fresh Apples. It smelled so good. Just exactly like fresh apples!

Benjispruce5 · 19/11/2021 18:26

@isthismylifenow oh silly me! Still, doesn’t seem ethically right to fly in shampoo!

I remember Flex! I was pregnant with DD2 in 1991 when I used it…. It made my hair lovely but I had a reaction to it and it made my scalp itch and weep…😞

Inthesameboatatmo · 20/11/2021 08:38

Loved flex and also salon selectives.

PaulaTrilloe · 20/11/2021 08:42

Used to work for Revlon Healthcare and they had a heavily discounted company shop. Flex was 30p a bottle but it was back in 1985!

I felt very sophisticated going to the city ( Manchester) and having my hair cut at Vidal Sassoon when I was 17.
I remember then asking all questions about my hair and they may as well be talking a different language because I didnt have a clue what they were on about!

honeylemonteaforme · 20/11/2021 12:16

This thread is so funny I can smell Henara now and I'd completely forgotten about its existence

Benjispruce5 · 20/11/2021 15:46

Linco-Beer shampoo in a beige bottle shaped like a barrel

Woodleigh Green apple shampoo

My favourite was one by Topaz , a dark brown spicy smelling shampoo and a cinditioner so thick it was a workout to squeeze it from the bittle Grin

BurningTheToast · 20/11/2021 17:33

Loved Flex - my hair's never been so good. And Vidal Sasson with that lovely almond smell.

Linco Beer was also great. It's been discontinued and there's a weird fake one that people claim is just the same but it's not.

lazylinguist · 20/11/2021 17:44

I remember it. It made my hair very nice, but unfortunately the smell of it is indelibly linked to the first time I got absolutely hammered, age about 16. I remember using the conditioner the morning after when I was felt unbelievably nauseous. I couldn't use it after that. I'd forgotten all about it until I read this thread . So thanks for that, OP Grin

lazylinguist · 20/11/2021 17:45

Ooh yes, the almondy Vidal Sassoon stuff was gorgeous though!

Benjispruce5 · 21/11/2021 20:01

Sorry @lazinguist Smile
