Who remembers Revlon Flex shampoo?

I had long forgotten this shampoo and conditioner but caught a whiff of it on my hair after using L’Oréal dream lengths. It’s not really the same but something registered in my scent memory.I loved it in my teens and 20s. The conditioner was thick and yellow and the smell lingered in your hair for days plus my hair felt bouncy and shiny. Win , win.
Does anyone know if you can still get it anywhere?

Ooh i see I’m not alone. I’ve just looked on Amazon but some reviews say it’s different. Why do they discontinue great stuff. My fave perfumes always get discontinued too!Angry

Ooh I remember that. My auntie used it abs her hair smelt amazing. She’s 70 now and still has amazing, shiny thick hair. Will have to ask her if she still uses it.

I also remember Finesse. The advert had a song that went “sometimes you need a little finesse, sometimes you need a lot”

Also Salon Selectives. Where you could mix and match the shampoo and conditioner types. “Like you just stepped out of a salonnnnn”

Obviously I watched too many adverts as a young teen.

I can still hear the tunes! Blush

thenightsky · 17/11/2021 20:40

Revlon Flex was amazing! I found it in our local Boyes and bought the lot about a month ago.

I’ve been searching online but doesn’t feel right to order shampoo from India! Some hefty prices elsewhere too.
I remember Salon Selectives and the song!Grin

Who remembers Revlon Flex shampoo?
TomAllenWife · 17/11/2021 20:54

Oh the Vidal Sassoon in dark brown bottles was gorgeous! Thick & almondy

I lived near the revlon factory so used to buy masses of Fkex. It was great

sarahtalkstoomuch · 18/11/2021 01:09

You can still buy it in South Africa. Dirt cheap

Lurleene · 18/11/2021 01:23

I remember the Flex jingle, it has been an earworm since I was young.

If your hair's gotta have it, your hair's gonna get it. Get strong, get Flex-ibility !

Or something like that Blush

There's loads of Revlon Flex in a variety of bottles on Amazon, is it the same or similar?

I have thick coarse wavy hair and get through loads of conditioner, I just want something that smooths and flattens which is good value (and smells nice).

WouldBeGood · 18/11/2021 06:26

Oh yes! I can smell it now! That takes me back

knackeredcat · 18/11/2021 09:38

I loved Flex, but who remembers Revlon's Outrageous shampoos and conditioners? My hair was super shiny and smelled fabulous.

Less pleasant on the nose but did wonders for condition and colour - Henara horse chestnut shampoo and conditioner. Brought out all my natural red and dark mahogany glints in my dark brown hair in the days before my first greys appeared. It appeared again a few years back but was more watered down and less effective. Shame.

Thanks to various PPs I've now those ad jingles in my head and will be going down a YouTube rabbit hole. I love a bit of beauty product nostalgia Grin

Snoopsnoggysnog · 18/11/2021 09:41

Me too @knackeredcat but I didn’t realise I did until this thread 🤣

I also remember Henara! Had totally forgotten about that!

IndecentCakes · 18/11/2021 09:43

I remember the original Wash and Go, and Dimension 2 in 1. The best was the original Pantene smell, though, from the early '90 s before they made it all fruity.

peachescariad · 18/11/2021 09:54

Loved Revlon Flex....omg I can smell it right now.
Used to wear my hair down at school the next day...lots of head flicking!

Amdone123 · 18/11/2021 10:03

I was thinking about Flex the other day ! I was so excited to see this thread.
Saturday morning aged 15 (circa 1983), shower, wash hair with Flex ( it was a treat buy tbh. Rest of time was cheapish shampoo) - it used to make me feel so put together and grown up. Then, get dressed in my typical 80s attire, and head to the shopping centre with my dsis and friends where we'd mess about in Wooloworths and lean over the balcony looking at boys !
I think I saw it in Poundland.

Original -

I also used to love Revlon dry skin lotion which was thick consistency yellowy lotion that smelt lovely.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 18/11/2021 11:20

Ooh yes the original wash and go, the advert was a woman with very swishy hair at a gym locker or something. “I just wanna wash my hair - and go!” Why do I remember all these? Blush

This is funny

IntemperateSpirits · 18/11/2021 11:29

I used the blond Henara, all the time.

And Bristows hairspray but the bastards made that smell all wrong years ago.

ponkydonkey · 18/11/2021 11:29

Oh you'll love this the ad for flex balsam

There's more 🤣

HetHetHet · 18/11/2021 11:39

I've occasionally seen Flex in Home Bargains.

Cheerbear24 · 18/11/2021 19:27

Yes I loved Henara! But I also loved Flex, the lovely balsam smell. I found some bottles in a chemist a few years ago and bought them all. Can’t tell you where as it’s my secret 🤐!!

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 18/11/2021 19:36

Talk of Vidal Sassoon brown bottles brings back happy memories! If memory serves me right it was actually three separate bottles, shampoo, conditioner and some sort of finishing conditioner. Sounds a faff now thinking about it but it was great stuff back in the day.
