I also have my despatch email! Which dress is on its way @AFingerofFudge?

AFingerofFudge · 29/11/2021 16:46

It's the Tulip Dress that is Not on its way @faustina

Saurus72 · 29/11/2021 16:53

Ah annoying @AFingerofFudge I’ve had my despatch email too - but only the dress is on it, not the robe sadly. No email saying it’s OOS tho.

@faustina I completely understand what you said about shopping fatigue. I’ve waited for Black Friday to buy a lot of things (mainly make-up, hair and skincare). I definitely feel ready to lie fallow again - really don’t want to be overwhelmed by stuff 😬

faustina · 29/11/2021 17:01

@Saurus72 - yes, I stock up on things like that at this time of year too - but I don't mind that so much as the endless trying on and sending back of underwhelming things that don't fit the bill in one way or another - I think this will be coat number 6 or 7! I've seen some really nice vintage coats but if I can't return for free or almost free, I won't order them.

I miss shops like Flip in Covent Garden so much for coats - you could go in there and be 100% sure you'd find something amazing in half an hour!

Countmeout · 29/11/2021 17:05

@AFingerofFudge

The pink dress is back (again) on JL in case anyone is feeling like they're missing out!Grin
And the purple/mauve jumpsuit which also keeps appearing
Saurus72 · 29/11/2021 17:19

Oh god, coats are really bulky and a pain to return too. I usually buy coats from Jigsaw - when I’ve needed smarter coats for work. I bought I lovely wool military-ish one last summer for about 70% off. I haven’t even worn it yet but I feel relieved just knowing it’s there!

BigDayToday · 29/11/2021 17:25

Lol at that pink dress - I wonder what's wrong with it?

I saw this this morning but the two pairs of trousers I added to my basket were gone before I could check out! I can't justify anything else right now (but I did get a nice - secondhand - Toast jumper in the post today so all is well Grin

Is this is for a Toast sale or is there more/better to come?

BigDayToday · 29/11/2021 17:26

*this this = the sale

Blush
Theteapotsbrokenspout · 29/11/2021 17:29

I put loads of things in my basket last night following the heads up on here, then I decided I didn’t really need any of them so didn’t order. Also thought one or two bits were more than I paid earlier in the year, I’m sure I paid a lot less for the green Ashley jeans.

Laska2Meryls · 29/11/2021 17:36

Some things are definitely more expensive than last years final sale prices. For example the alpaca lace jumper which I bought at 55 or 60 I think ( though that may have been from JL)..

faustina · 29/11/2021 17:48

@BigDayToday - I can't remember if they add things to the sale. Perhaps? They do definitely do further reductions!

@Saurus72 - I wfh so don't need smart, but I do like to have a big wool coat to just wrap myself in - it's what I wear most of the time, though I do have a puffer coat for supermarket queues etc. My last successful coat was about five years ago - tried to replace last year and didn't find anything. Your Jigsaw success sounds nice!

Laska2Meryls · 29/11/2021 18:44

This os the archive sale.. they will do a 'proper' winter one ( well did last year, just before or just after Christmas I think )

AmethystMoonShine · 29/11/2021 18:49

Still no dispatch email Sad become by concerned a lot of my order isn’t going to be in stock…..

SmaugMum · 29/11/2021 18:51

@Stoic123, thanks for the early-bird warning! I ordered the cotton cashmere check dress I’ve long been coveting (£55 instead of £195). I intend to wear it as loungewear, together with my bargainous Birkenstock lammfell shearling slippers (£46 on Amazon rather than £115).

Today, I revisited the sale, having been sent a generous Christmas cheque from an aged relative, and ordered the wool wrap jacket. I prevaricated over this last year and was then disappointed when it was a sell-out. Being a good Yorkshire lass, it was the handwoven in Yorkshire credentials that convinced me!

(Confession time: I have both the raspberry dress and the lilac blue linen jumpsuit. 🙈) They we’re both it-would-be-rude-not-to in the JL 70% off sales and they have both earned their keep.

My kids and I camp/glamp a lot all year round and the linen jumpsuit helps preserve my dignity after showers in shared blocks in muddy fields; it goes straight on and it looks like I’m wearing actual clothes rather than parading through a field of fellow campers in my best jim-jams.

I checked my order history and had access (and purchased) on 23rd December last year
neveradullmoment99 · 29/11/2021 20:18

Lots of things gone and not much left anyway. Although I assume there will be returns...

ScottishMouse · 29/11/2021 20:42

@SmaugMum, have you ever seen the wool wrap jacket in the flesh? I ordered it too, have never seen it, so hope I gambled on the right size.

I also had the cotton cashmere dress in my basket but it was oos by the time I got to checkout.

Stoic123 · 29/11/2021 21:07

I hope everyone's purchases turn out to fit well and suit them.

I got a bit giddy last night (having never been in the lucky position of early Toast sale access before) and bought 5 dresses (plus a pair of socks). I am hoping that 3 of the dresses don't suit or I will be an extra broke in January.

As well as the Mila and Palm Poplin mentioned above, I bought the Cotton Cashmere Check, Damson Cotton Oxford and the Fine Stripe Cotton Shirt Dress.

@SmaugMum- giggled when read that you own BOTH the legendary JL pieces. Fab that you get good use out of them.

neveradullmoment99 · 29/11/2021 21:26

I have the lilac jumpsuit. Not the dress but the jumpsuit is so lovely. I have worn mine in the summer a few times.

Laska2Meryls · 30/11/2021 08:53

My bag has been dispatched! However I won't get it for a while as we are away and our mail is on hold

AmethystMoonShine · 30/11/2021 09:12

I've had my dispatch email too, and relieved to find all the items are on there. In particular the nightwear.....I'm loving the cosy nights in front of the fire in my Toast PJs and gowns now that it's properly cold.

Saurus72 · 30/11/2021 10:50

My dress arrived and it’s a sale fail - I don’t think it’s very flattering and certainly not worth £145 so back it goes. No sign of the robe either. Well that’s £210 that I’ve avoided spending which is good all things considered!

Toastie in our winter woolies. Toast #10
Stoic123 · 30/11/2021 10:56

@Saurus72- that's a shame I am expecting more fails than normal as may be good reasons they've not completely sold out first time round.

Some extra budget for the winter sale proper Wink.

ilovecherries · 30/11/2021 10:57

Not in the sale, but I swapped my Alpaca jumper fail for the Fairisle Shetland. It’s quite muted compared to the photos, but I think I do like it nonetheless.

Saurus72 · 30/11/2021 11:08

I think that’s true @Stoic123 - I knew it would need to be amazing even to justify the sale price, the original price was an unfathomable £245 😱
