That dress sounds fab and looked lovely on @Stoic123, it’s definitely on my sale wish list. If they even have a sale 🙄

Snowyowl78 · 26/11/2021 15:13

Just got my Luna too and love it! I think it’s the same fit as the Harlequin. I think it might be a teeny bit big but I’m thinking that it might shrink a little bit when washed so maybe that’s a good thing. For anyone looking for this or the Harlequin, there is an 8 in the Harlequin on the JL site now, and a 16 on the Toast site for the Luna. @AmethystMoonShine

JustforToast · 26/11/2021 16:16

I got my Luna too but it was too fitted for my liking. I think I should have gone at least one size up for the look I was hoping for. Net result is that there is a size 8 going back and should reappear online!

JustforToast · 26/11/2021 16:45

I also got the cord dart trousers in the Prussian Blue in a 10. V pleased with them. When I was in the shop I tried on the same trousers, same size in Earth colour. Much tighter. Riddle me that!

ilovecherries · 26/11/2021 18:49

Big favour - Would someone try the returns process for me? Just the first page where it asks for order number plus email or postcode? I keep getting ‘not recognised’ and I’m not sure if it’s a me problem or them. Have put in a support ticket but that could take all weekend and I was hoping to post tomorrow. Thanks!

Works ok for me @ilovecherries. Although it has reminded me that I posted two return parcels over a week ago and only got a refund for one. I really hope there isn’t going to be a problem with the one that hasn’t arrived yet.

ilovecherries · 26/11/2021 19:34

Thank you. I’m wondering if it’s something odd they’ve done with entering the order as it was dispatched 7 mins after I placed it! They have taken the money though! Will just need to wait and see what they say.

Are you not keeping the jumper @ilovecherries
I have the navy one with the fluro coloured yoke. I love it.

No, it’s just not working for me at all. It’s just not a great fit somehow.

I have this years blue snowflake one and a brown graphic yoke and I love both of them but the alpaca one just isn’t right.

OP posts:
ScottishMouse · 26/11/2021 22:27

What did you find not good about the alpaca yoke sweater @ilovecherries? I am eyeing up the navy with green as a Christmas gift.

Mine wasn’t terribly well finished for the price, plus it was weirdly close fitting and clingy on the bottom half, while being quite loose round the shoulders. I think it just came down to not special enough for the price, I couldn’t see it being something I’d choose over other knitwear in my wardrobe.

ScottishMouse · 26/11/2021 23:45

Thanks @ilovecherries, that’s really helpful. I might need to try it in store and see.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/11/2021 07:35

That is a shame. Well I absolutely love mine. Its the first jumper I reach for. Its just so soft.
We are all different shapes though so although I do find it boxy, it finishes at a good length. The fluro colour running across is stunning with the background.
Sorely tempted to buy the other colour ( if in sale)
Can't remember what size mine is.

Hi Cherries, I had this same problem a while ago. I went on live chat and they emailed me a returns label straight away. I had to tell them the order number. Hope that helps
neveradullmoment99 · 27/11/2021 12:18

Happened to me today. Returning the tie neck shirt. Thanks for the tip on the live chat. Ive posted mine now!

This article was in The Sunday Times Style magazine last week but I’ve only just worked out to access share tokens so non-subscribers can see beyond the paywall.

The observation on here that there seem to be many more sell-outs would appear to be due to the current CEO’s strategy of reducing waste by cutting the number of collections from six to four per year.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 28/11/2021 14:14

Thanks for the link @SmaugMum , interesting comments at the bottom.
Do we know where the two new shops they mention will be?

Gonegrey31 · 28/11/2021 14:42

One new shop has opened in Marlow . Haven’t visited it (yet! )

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 28/11/2021 14:51

Didn’t realise Marlow was new, it’s on the location list already - was hoping for something near me. My nearest is Cambridge, although it’s probably easier to get to London.

TheChattyRat · 28/11/2021 16:12

Interesting article thanks for sharing, and I actually find the comments equally or more interesting. Especially the comment about backing up their brand story telling with facts about sourcing. They don't seem open about this. I wish also at the cost they sell they would use organic cotton.

Saurus72 · 28/11/2021 16:25

@TheChattyRat that was my comment! I really think this is a big issue for Toast - the responsible wool standard statement has been adopted by a lot of retailers - and brands like Jigsaw talk about traceable wool. I emailed them and asked on Instagram about the origin of the blue coatigan but never got a response. If they tell brand stories they have to have depth to them, and actions to back them up.

TheChattyRat · 28/11/2021 17:38

@Saurus72 very good comment! I completely agree

ilovecherries · 28/11/2021 18:03

Thanks for the link to the article, really interesting read and very much playing on their origins rather than current ownership. I also mailed them recently to ask about their wool standard and did get a response but it was basically PR speak.
